Oh dear steve, i think we need someone with your credentials. How can a tournament be well organised without the Main Man Steve Butler.... Any solutions ??

I think handicap is well worth doing, gives everyone a chance. Willie Thorne's club have regular handicap tournaments and it works very well and many people attend, especially the young lads.

Hi Steve, I may need the forms that you use for the Tournaments..... you definately cant make 18 Oct ?
I definitely can't make the 18th Nav. However, Wayne Martin has the spreadsheet on his PC so if he's coming I'm sure he will be more than willing to bring it with him. Between Yourself, Wayne and Mike I'm sure you'll manage!

Wayne,
The number have gone down to around 8, thinking of moving the date forward to another time. What do you think, its best to get as many numbers as possible..
Thanks

Steve,
Thinking of moving the date forward to the 1st of Nov 09. Willie Thorne Handicap is next week, so the week after seems ok. If you can update this as some guys have dropped out. If we can get the likes of you and a few other guys then the turnout will be good, let me know if the date is good.
Thanks
Nav,
I think that may be better, you need more than 8 realistically or you have to go to group stages etc like we have at Eastwood.
I'm fine with the date change, suits me better.
Cheers,
Wayne
Yes, I should be able to get 1st November off work so that would be better.
ok, lets move the tournament to 1st of Nov.... Please update the bulletin steve... thanks
Names have been updated on PAGE 1 of those people who are entering the spot on snooker tournament. If anyone else is interested, then do let us know !!!
I'm up for playing. My handicap is 28. Looking forward to it
hi there, was just wondering if there were any spaces in ur snooker tournament left, not played for a few year so not got a handicap or owt, was never brilliant anyway , could ya let me no no :thx: :thx: gavin
Hi,
We have spaces for the tournament, just provide us with your full name. There will be over 16 players i believe, so we may have groups of 4 and you are guaranteed 3 matches. We will decide on the day if handicaps should still be used in group stages.
Thanks
hi my name is gavin shirley, how ya gonna decide if its handicapped or not???, is it £10 fee?? and can u send me the postcode :thx:, im coming from mansfield have u got be there before 11???
:thx: gavin
Hi, Registration starts at 11am but try to be there before 11.30 if coming from far distance. Me and Wayne Martin will decide if group stages would be better or just straight handicap ko.
The address is should be on page 2 i think. I have put your name down.
ok nice1, aint played for about 3 years so gonna be crap , wot time u open??????
gavin
hi, just tried 2 ring the club 2 find out some details, but the number wont ring 4 some reason, just wondered if ya had 2 be a member 2 come down and play, and how much it is per hr???
:thx: gav
You don't have to be a member to play in this competition. I think the club opens at 11am but I'm not 100% sure on that.
According to the latest issue of Ballsmania (http://www.mpldigital.com/ballsmania/newspaper/101), the club's phone number is 985 9226. Is that the one you phoned?
no i tried the number of page 2 were the address is, am looking forward to sun gonna be good while it lasts
gav
Hi guys.......can you put my name down Nav.........see ya there !!!!!!
hi nav, u made a decision on weather it gonna b a straight knockout or a handicapp tournament, cos there gonna be some players at alot higher standard than others?????
Hi, Most likely we will got with Handicap for definate as it will be more competitive..... so yes, handicap it has to be !!
I know your gona struggle sunday nav so you cant give yourself a good handicap now
stew, u know that the handicap is a major benefit to you..... but your handicap will also go down after the season... i bet your glad that you are getting a start coz let sunday come and i will make sure the big breaks get knocked in... couple of visits and the table wont have any balls left for you to pot.. (thats if you pass the first round.)   i will ring you later..
Congratulations to Jason Stockton (-7) who played superbly in winning the Spot On Handicap.
Jason beat James Booth (+14) 3-0 in the final with breaks of 66,48 and 30.
Well done to James as well, who played exceptional during the day particularly in beating Chris Winter (-7) in the semi-final with a brilliant clearance in the deciding frame, when he was in deep trouble.
Full tournament details to follow.
Many thanks to Nav Hussain for staging and arranging a great days competition at Spot On.
Hi All, A very successfull Spot On Tournament and congratulations to Jason for winning the final against James Booth. The latter played very well against MR Winter, who just ran out of steam later on in the tournament. However, James Booth played a very solid game near the end part of the tournament. :bravo:
Will try to hold another Tournament around early december.
Forgot to mention, thanks also to Wayne for bringing his laptop with him to sort out the draw and also the extra effort for keeping eveything running smoothly. :bravo:
just wanna say a well done 2 jason yesterday he played really well, and everbody else played there part 2 was a long but good day, nav how much did the winner make????
Prize Fund= £120
Cost of Table = £40 (for six excellent tables, all day rate)
Semi Finals = £10 each person (£20)
Runner Up = £20
Winner = £40
Yep was a good day. I was definitely lowest ability player in my group, but that brings out my best play and as Chris mentioned it was excellent match practice for all of us. Looking forward to Eastwood.

You're most welcome Wayne. I hope you found it easy to use the spreadsheet.
Just one query, the bottom group B match between Chris Winter and Jason Stockton was shown as finishing 1-1 on the spreadsheet so I took a guess and assumed Jason won 2-1. Was that correct?
Yea thanks to steve for the report and to wayne and nav for the running of the day.
I think that match was just 1-1 steve as the group had been sorted by their final frame so didnt bother to finish it.

I'll second Wayne on congratulating James Booth on his semi final performance. I just came back in time from drowning my sorrows after my own embarassing performance to see that clearance in the final frame under pressure, especially the blind pot on the black. Exceptional finish James.
Yh cheers for the comments guys. Was a good day, its nice to find a bit of form again. Personally i think the handicap is a bit generous but, cant complain i guess!
Just keep this short and simple.
Well done james mate. :bravo: :bravo: :bravo:
