Steve Butler 4-0 Cary Davies
Cary got off to a good start potting some great balls but I managed to claw my way back into the first frame. It went down to the pink and Cary unfortunately missed the pink altogether when trying to play safe and this handed me the frame. Cary gradually started to miss pots and I had a bit of running which enabled me to win 4-0 in a scrappy match. The highest break was about 22!
No doubt Cary will get his revenge when I go to Pegasus later in the season.....
Good win steve, especially against a very dangerous opponent.
Well done :welldone: Steve good result mate there should be sumore good results from you this season! you know with you having that lovely table ;) but then again your a busy man so probs dont get the time. :bravo:
well playd 'team mate' :welldone:
Awsome Start Steve  :welldone: :bravo:
Must be that table of yours ;)
Watch this man!!!
Mike Langdon 1-3 Steve Butler
I feel like Man Utd, playing poorly and still winning after extra time!
Mike easily won the first frame but I managed to win the second. I honestly cannot remember much about it but I won somehow!
The crucial third frame got a bit twitchy with both of us refusing 50/50's. It went down to the black and Mike very bravely went for a cross double. He played it superbly but as it dropped in the middle the white looked like it would follow it in, however it hit the jaw, ran straight across the table and into the opposite middle! Desperately unlucky for Mike who was absolutely gutted to find himself 2-1 down.
The final frame kicked off after 11pm so we both went for everything early on and Mike took the lead with a well crafted 19 break. Again I managed to claw my way back into it as Mike left me on a few times. I managed to pot the blue and needing just the pink I played safe (yes, sorry Mike I was playing safe) but amazingly I doubled the pink into one of the tightest corner pockets on any snooker table anywhere in the world. So I won the match with a fluke, really sorry Mike you deserved at least a draw.
:sorry:
Thanks to Dan for supplying us with the drinks and for Donna for allowing us to stay after hours to finish the match.
A tip for any other Pegasus player - get me on table 2, I HATE it!
;)
Are my eyes deciveing me you won on a fluke against the fluke master, nice one steve
Another good victory i see there Steve  :welldone: :bravo:
What's all this about Man Utd
Hard luck Mike :bravo: :bravo:
It's sounds like a good night's snooker session then, :welldone: Steve note wrong about a bit of luck, Ay mike you know all about luck
good result mate. :congrats: Steve and "unlucky" mike.
Sean
To go down in nottm snooker folklore as the 'cross double hex'...castel-nuovo you have a lot to answer for as I never used to play them until you pointed the way to the dark side like some shady crack cocaine dealer, now after a short lived high it's causing me nothing nothing but pain!
The cross double I attempted was tough but I knew I could get a good White by sending it through baulk off 2 cushions and back down towards the black cushion. Curse that middle jaw for getting in the way. Must have looked hilarious as firstly I gave a fist pump as the black dropped, showed concern as steve said that's in-off, more elation as I realise it's hitting the jaw quickly followed by deflation as steve perks up with as I said it's in the middle as the cue ball bounces off the cushion at some weird angle and rolls for an eternity across the table I to the opposite middle. I drop to my knees, steve runs off pissing himself laughing....I think what also made it worse was that we both were on the black for about 10 minutes. We both rattled it a few times, played some great safety exchanges and also both ran our luck a few times.
Steve's cross double on the pink to win the match was also played brilliantly and I called great shot as it left the cushion as was going nowhere else but the middle of the tightest pocket in the club. Obviously really rubbed salt to hear he hadn't played it and was lucky....wish he didn't tell me .
Well played mate always a pleasure. :bravo: :bravo:
Mike - I agree with you totally Castel-Nuovo has a lot to answer for!!!!!!
He "Luves a dabble!!!!!" and I have witnessed some of his more scary one's recently - in fact he played a "back treble" against Cris Winter on Tuesday - which was incredible - it flew in and he didn't bat an eyelid (Impressive stuff).
You know that watching DCN should come with a health Warning!!!!!!
He also played one in the 6 Reds final against Jason Bettridge a few weeks ago - he even looked up to see if I was watching first (I shook my head) and he still went for it and got it.
Legend Status for DCN I think!!!!
Steve Butler 2-2 Ant McMahon
I went 2-0 up in this match without playing particularly well. It took Ant a while to get warmed up.
In the third frame Ant played much better safety and he didn't give me a sniff.
The final frame was all Ant and he potted like a demon, winning the frame easily in about 10 minutes for a 2-2 draw.
Well played Ant, a draw was a fair result.
Sounds like a fair result, Thats a good result for me too after i slipped up on saturday aganist Mike Langdon.
:bravo:
Jamie Sampson 3-1 Steve Butler
I went 19 down in the first frame with 18 on the table. Jamie then did a "Zeb", missing the blue completely and I went on to pot the remaining colours (not all in one go, I'm not that good!) to go 1-0 up.
Both of us were struggling but Jamie suddenly found some form in frame 2, making an impressive 62 break to level at 1-1.
Frame 3 was scrappy and I had a great chance to win it. I potted the pink and had an easy black off the spot for the frame but I missed it like a plonker and Jamie made me pay, potting the black to go 2-1 up.
Frame 4 was all Jamie and I ended up conceding with reds still on the table.
Well done Jamie, we both struggled for most of the match but the better man won.
See you on Sunday.
Congratulations on your 13hundredth post.
Hard luck in your match. If your not playing well then your not playing well. These things happen.
Steve Butler 3-1 Shaun Parkinson
Frame 1 got off to a nervy start with both players struggling to pot anything but I was the quicker to settle down and I managed to pot a few colours at the end to take the frame.
Frame 2 saw a much better performance by Shaun. He had a solid 20 odd break which included a few baulk colours. I managed to claw my way back into it though and I had a fairly easy blue and with the pink over the middle bag I would have won the frame had I potted it. However I missed the blue and Shaun slotted it in followed by the pink to steal the frame and level the match at 1-1.
Frame 3 was also very close and I just managed to pinch it on the pink.
Frame 4 had a similar ending to the 2nd, however this time it was Shaun who missed an easy blue that could have won him the frame. To make things worse, I left him a cut on the pink in the middle, but he missed it completely and this meant he needed a snooker. With the black tight on the side cushion it was a virtually impossible task and I ended up potting the pink to take the frame and match 3-1.
The match could easily have finished 3-1 to Shaun. He played well overall and was unlucky.
This win puts me level on points and frame difference with Sean Hopkin, my next opponent!
:england:
Good win Steve! Looking forward to our match! ;)
I'm not, I'm struggling for form!
Steve Butler 3-1 Sean Hopkin
I don't know how I won this match because Sean played better than me although it did take him a while to settle down.
I won the first frame (can't remember how!) and then the second with the help of a 30 break to put me 2-0 up. Always nice to get 2 frames on the board so you know you can't lose.
The third frame saw Sean make a 28 break and he won it easily. He played much better than me in this frame and was getting into his stride.
Sean continued to pot in the final frame and he got himself into a decent lead. I don't really remember too much about the frame except for my 34 clearance that secured an important win for me.
Thanks for the game Sean. I'm very pleased with the win considering how I played. I only played well in small patches and that, combined with my half decent safety game proved enough. I do think you played better than me on the whole.
Thanks to Jordan Parnham for reffing the match and for making some nice air holes in my ceiling!!!

Oh My God Steve what lengths will you go to, to win a match.
Thats employing tactics if I've ever seen it...switching the video camera on to put your opponent under instant pressure, do you usually make all your guests so nervous when they come to your place..lmaoooo
I'll have to ask Sean, when the camera was on, if he was also interrogated while taking his shots..
Joking of course, thats a nice touch to have it videoed, will you be putting it on the site?
That is a very good result for you Steve (team mate) ;) :welldone:
I know you haven't been feeling very confident about playing Sean.
The result puts you bang in contention now. Looking forward to our game next. ;)
Aup Nick.
To be fair he played alot better, The camara gave me more nerves because i wanted to play well in front of it but playing on a table ive never played on before you have to take 1-2 frames to get used to the speed and stuff. Too many poor safety shots cost me really, as you'll all see on the video. Something just dosen't seem the be right with my game, hasn't done for a long while now.
Good luck with the rest of the season mate!!!!! :drink:

Thanks Nick. I am transferring the footage now from my camcorder so it will be online soon. As will the NHSL singles and pairs finals from last season (about time!).
I don't mind filming any match at my place if my opponent wants me to. I know Sean was keen to see himself on youtube!
Time for a cuppa.....
:drink:
Nice one mate, Looking forward to seeing my self play like a dustbin!
Maybe you should come to all my singles league matches steve and record them all
He'll need a new lense on his camera if he does that ;)
Sorry about that Steve
Nick Kirkman 2-2 Steve Butler
I went into this match having not slept for 25 hours so I was well chuffed to come away with a draw.
Nick started the match in amazing style. He barely missed a ball and I was rooted to my chair in the first 2 frames. He made a 30 in the 1st frame and then a 30 and a 48 in the 2nd to go 2-0 up within half an hour.
As frame 3 started I thought I was going to get whitewashed but I managed to make a game of it and I eventually won it on the brown.
I managed to score quite a few small breaks in the final frame which left Nick 50 behind with 51 on the table. I potted a long red and then rolled up behind a colour in baulk which forced the concession from Nick.
Absolutely delighted with a draw considering the way Nick played in the first two frames!
:bravo:
I knew if I had any chance against Steve, I needed to keep him off the table and also try not to get into a tactical battle with him as My safety play is almost non-existent LOL as it proved in frame 3 and 4.
I probably played the best two frames of snooker in the last 12 months to win the first two frames. Making contributions of 23, 30 and 27 in the first and in the second I won the frame in two visits with breaks of 30 and 48. I got perfect position on the last two reds but they were touching each other, one of them didn't go the other was very tight I played it dead weight but it just bounced off the other red, always Ifs and Buts but was on for about a 90 break with all the hard work done.
Frame 3 Steve played very well and established a lead, I had a 21 to close the gap but I missed a sitter of a red above the black spot which could have developed into a frame winning opportunity but later on after potting the last red and blue the white fell short of pace for the yellow and I was snookered, eventually I lost the frame.
Frame 4 was all Steve with the bit between his teeth, I potted a couple of long reds and got the colours only to run out of position each time but the run of the balls and some good potting and a few healthy contributions from Steve put the frame beyond doubt with two reds still on the table.
I think most players after being 2-0 up feel they should go on and win at least one of the last two frames and feel robbed when they don't. I know Ant felt robbed against me when he was 2-0 up and I also felt robbed when I was 2-0 up against Mike but you just have to remember it's about 4 frames not just the first two.
I know if I carried on playing like I did in the first two frames I would have won this match but the fact is... I didn't, and Steve deserved the draw and all credit to him especially as he didn't really get a go in the first two frames.
Good luck Steve in the second half of the season, I think your going to be the one to beat in this division. ;)
I know you said to me after the match your glad I'm in your team 'NHSL' but let me just tell ya, I'm glad I'm in your team, I don't want to have to play you too often LOL.
A big Thank-You to Steve Burrows for refereeing the match for us.
Nice comeback Steve.....I like the way you got the excuse in early about no sleep lol!
Any news on Spider mate?

Any news on Spider mate?
I only know what Ryan said HERE (http://nottinghamsnooker.com/forum/index.php?topic=2899.msg8476#msg8476)
As for your handicap, it serves you right for winning the doubles!
;)
Shaun Parkinson 2-2 Steve Butler
I won the first frame but lost the next two to trail 1-2. I managed to win the last frame quite easily to make it 2-2. I'm always happy with a draw away from home but it is a shame that BCI seems to be frequented by one or two morons!
My God i have just read this right mr butler.? You had some morons at bci , what were they doing mate . Must be bad to rattle your cage mate.
Hard luck Steve
I know them so called morons ur talking about very well, they use to play at masters when i played there and they were just as noisey then as they are now.
I thought all the morons played at Pegasus
Keeps everything very tight in Div 1 with the chances of finishing runner-up or picking up the wooden spoon a real possibility for the chasing pack. Not that I'm saying Sean has the title in the bag as I'm hoping to throw a spanner in the works. ;)
I thought we was friends mike!
 There not that bad they only come in once a week. well atcually they are noisy its because of the guy with the hat he gets pissed out of his head and then anoys the other three guys infact the only decent one out of the four of them who is the quiteist one is Collin wich is Lee Crombies dad infact...........but sorry you had to put up with that mate infact Shaun Parkinson should of known better! then to play it on a sunday i dont know tactics hay.
 I think you'll be OK mate. How does Thursday night sound about half 7?
They come in once a week and make a fornights worth of noise!
Cant really just blame one of them Sean there all like it every sunday.
Could you do earlier thursday Mike?
They are not morons just piss heads having a laugh they are actually funny at times cant be worse than playing a match at mapperly with line dancing monday and pole dancing tuesday...
I wish I hadn't used the word moron now. My results thread has been hijacked!
:sorry:
The daft thing is, I wasn't actually referring to those four chaps in the first place, people just assumed I was!
Anyhow, Shaun complained about the noise and they all kept it down after that apart from one guy who said "you've got no chance of shutting me up" or something like that! I would describe him as selfish rather than moronic.
Steve Butler 3-1 Nick Kirkman
I'm getting old which probably explains why I can never remember much about the frames I have played, except strangely for the ones I lose!
I won the first frame (always nice to win the first) and I made a 30 break in the 2nd frame which put me 26 ahead with 27 on the table. Nick potted the yellow and then went on to make a terrific 25 clearance to pinch the frame by 1 point. Very impressive.
Match level at 1-1 and I narrowly won the 3rd which was a huge relief as I now could not lose.
I played pretty well in the final frame and opened up a 20 odd point lead. On the colours I had a funny feeling that Nick would clear the table again but he left me a simple green and brown which put me safe.
Nice to win the match having lost to Mike in my previous home match. I was very impressed with Nick though becuase he played very well on a table that some people struggle to pot balls on.
Butler v Kirkman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b5zzvGHy6g#ws)
Nice bounce back Steve
Thank you. Just call me Steve "Bouncy Ball" Butler!
:sorry:
Thanks Steve, I really enjoyed our match.
I'm still not playing like I usually can but there were some good signs this evening albeit in patches.
Would have been nice to have had a repeat of our last match where I put a few breaks together but I'm not dissapointed how I played this evening it was better than the last 4 or 5 weeks lol
Loved your table, hope we can get a few frames together in the non too distant future, when we both get time.
Looking forward to seeing the video and see just how bad my technique is, if I have one
Well played mate
Well done Steve, Cracking win under pressure knowing if you dont win toinght i would of already won the league, Keeps it intresting now!!!
Certainly not over the line yet, Shaun Parkinson can be tuff to beat when hes on his game, And if it comes down to the last game of the season between me and you steve im going to be feeling the pressure big time!!!!
;) :welldone:
Well done Steve good result your still in for a shout! lol :bravo:
Unlucky Nick am sure you will win something soon pal.
Steve Butler 2-2 Jamie Sampson
Jamie Struggled to get going in the first two frames. I had a bit of running and Jamie kept leaving me on. A couple of 20 odd breaks and I found myself 2-0 up. Then it all changed as Jamie's safety improved ten fold and I couldn't pot a thing. Jamie won the last two frames for a deserved draw.
An enjoyable evening despite the lack of great snooker. The video certainly won't make pleasant viewing for the neutral!
Hi Steve, when you going to upload the eastwood videos, I know your busy man, but thought I remind you
Still editing it. A bit busy at the mo so can only do little bits when I get a few moments of peace (when Zara is asleep!).
Won't be long.........
PS. See you tomorrow night!
