Singles League: Nav Hussain 2-2 Stewart Crosswell

Nav Hussain moved to second position in the premier div with a 2-2 result against in form Stewart Crosswell with one game in hand. Stewart had a 14 start handicap which meant this match was going to be very hard for Nav to get even a draw considering Stewart won his previous 2 matches in other parts of the nhsl.

The match was not the best of quality with both players missing a few frame winning chances.

Frame 1: The first frame was very close, nav requiring 1 snooker on the colours and managed to get a great snooker behind the pink and Stewart missed the brown to put nav back into the game. Stewart trying to get safe of the brown under hit the shot, nav went to clear remaining balls and pinched the frame on the black.

Frame 2: A loose break of shot by Stewart gave nav the first opportunity amongst the balls and hit a classy 45 break followed by a tough safety shot. Stewart once again under hit the pack of reds to let nav in and went on to make a 35 break. This frame was won comfortably by Nav.

Frame 3: This was a tactical battle and Stewart knew he had to win the frame to give him a chance of taking a point away from this match. After some great safet shots from both players, it once again went to the colours and both players missed great opportunities to take the frame. Stewart did eventually sink the blue to black to take the frame.

Frame 4: Knowing that Nav could not loose the match, his mindset was to attack and take the game away from Stewart, but players bums were twitching (danny castos's phrase) and failed to take the advantage. Back again wen to the colours with blue hanging over the bag and stewart missed the blue with the rest. Nav went out on attack and pot the blue and pink but failed to get the correct position on the black. Went for a long black and missed the pot, Stewart went on to pot the black and take the frame.

Not the best of matches, but enjoyed playing knowng the next match is a month away. Well played Stewart for coming back from 2-0 down. :bravo:
