Handicap Pairs: Castel-Nuovo/Booth 2-1 Parnham/Croft

Parnham/Croft 1-2 Castel-Nuovo/Booth

The first frame kicked off with some superb potting from Sean Croft to keep us in the lead. Already having 28 start, this left Castel-Nuovo and Booth trailing behind. However, Castel-Nuovo fought back making a 20+ break to get him and his team mate back into the frame. Now both pairs had settled down a little bit, the frame started getting a little scrappy with an 8 here and a 12 there from either team. Towards the end of the frame on the colours, Castel-Nuovo and Booth needed only one snooker. It looked positive for Parnham and Croft but Castel-Nuovo and booth wasn't giving up just yet and continued to try and lay snookers. Unfortunatly for them they failed to do so and eventually conceded the frame.

Having lost the first frame, Castel-Nuovo and Booth faught back with a vengeance. They played some very solid safety play leaving nothing on for Parnham or Croft. Being left tight on the cushion, it caused Parnham to attempt a difficult long pot which he missed and left on a difficult pot into the middle pocket for Castel-Nuovo. Castel-Nuovo took full advantage of this opportunity to produce a fantastic pot into the middle pocket and gained perfect position on the black. He made a decent break to make it nearly neck and neck, even though Parnham and Croft hadn't pottered anything. This put huge pressure on us and gave them huge confidence which was proven by them both potting successfully to victory in that frame.  

In the deciding frame, Castel-Nuovo and Booth couldn't miss. They played some very solid snooker. Parnham and Croft could just watch and admire. From the confidence in the previous frame, Castel-Nuovo was on top form by making a 35 break towards the end of the frame, which could of easily been a 62 clearance if the yellow wasn't tight up on the cushion. This left Parnham and Croft needed quite a few snookers, but eventually we conceded the final frame.

We are just happy to have taken a frame off two amazing snooker players and we can hold our heads up high. It was a great experience and it's nice to have met some nice outgoing lads. Castel-Nuovo and booth, me and Sean wish you the best of look in the next round and congratulations on your win tonight, you deserved it! :welldone:

Thanks for the comments jordan, much appreciated. We enjoyed the game. You made it hard work for us, especially in the first frame. And i remember losing against you in the league when you played us at pegasus so I knew we had to put in a good performance tonight. Unlucky tonight guys, and im sure we will see you at some point later in the season.
