Steve Howard 57 v 48 Toby Irons
Steve should have wrapped this up earlier in the frame,when he was in front,but even tho' Toby kept missing chances when he was in,Steve didn't take full advantage.Toby appeared not to be up for it on the night,but despite this,managed to get in front down to the colours,it was only after Toby missed an easy blue,that Steve took the 'bull by the horns'.Steve didn't waste any time,potting blue and an awesome pink to finish perfect on black to sew up the game,unlucky Toby

Gaz Birks 68 v 34 Shaun Parkinson
Unable to comment on this match as was playing mine at the time,but Gaz holding off Shaun very nicely to put Phoenix 2 frames up,well played Gaz

Naomi Clare 25 v 45 Steve Capsey jnr
Again didn't see much of this, as was playing my doubles at the time,but Naomi did really well in the frame,and coulda' won,had she not given away 20 ish points in fouls,unlucky Naomi,and well done Steve jnr

Steve Howard/Gaz Birks 73 v 37 Shaun/Toby
Steve and Gaz combining forces well,though both missed some pots which they would usually have got,at one point it looked as if Shaun/Toby were coming back,but all to no avail as missed pots and/or position let Shaun/Toby down and from then on Steve/Gaz kept and added to their lead to win fairly convincingly in the end . . .
Unlucky to Shaun/Toby really enjoyed playing you both . . .

Away from home, Phoenix lost 3-1 to make the overall match result 4-4!

Dont have the scores as there lads have them, but

Ash goring won frame 1 for Phoenix by 30 odd points,

Steve lally lost the next frame, not sure how many by as i was playing,

Roger giddens needed a snooker going into the clolours, which he got. Unfortunately, missed a blue to the centre and lost.

Then me and steve went on the doubles and lost by 19'862-13 or something like that!  :laugh: We didnt really get a look in, and some good safety forced 2 errors by me, to allow a big lead to be established, and we never looked like pulling back.

We played BCI, a good match in a great atmosphere. Friom the 2 venues, i think 4 each was about right. Well played all  :welldone:
