Report on first semi-final played @ BCI last night between Jason Bettridge (BCI) & Chris Brooks (Pegasus).

1st  frame
Rather scrappy both players a bit nervous. Jason winning on the black

2nd frame             
Chris replies with a hard worked 47 break to level.

3rd frame             
Chris wins the next frame with a well controlled 45 break (made it look easy)

4th & 5th frame   
Jason with some solid potting,  fine safety & a certain amount of run regains the lead.

6th frame             
Not giving up Chris levels to take the match into the final frame.

7th frame             
Jason seemingly in full control misses a simple black to finish the match.

Chris goes in off leaving himself 29 points behind on the green.

He gets his snooker and coolly clears up to force a double black finale

Chris loses the toss but plays a good black on to the side cushion.

Jason doubles nay trebles the black dead weight  into the centre pocket, no one sure if it was going to drop until the last  second (Oh! the suspense).

A fine match played in good sprit by 2 excellent players.

The first semi final of this years Nott's amature championships 2010 between two of Nottinghams snooker greats Bci's Jason Bettridge v Pegasus Chris Brooks was always going to be a very tough and close encounter, and it most certainly was with a ultra close re-spotted black deciding the first of this years finalist!!!!
