Title: Rule Change 5 - Knockout Cup and Plate Format 2009/10
Post by: Steve Butler on 23 September 2009
Please note the following rule change for the 2009/10 season.

Appendix A

All teams will be seeded based on their performance in the previous season or on their perceived ability in the case of new teams.

A draw will be made ensuring that teams of the same seed, or teams from the same club, are placed into separate groups.

All teams will be issued with a handicap which they will retain throughout the competition.

Teams in each group will play each other once on a round-robin basis.  Matches will be played using the traditional aggregate points format.

Final positions in each group will be determined by the average points scored.

The teams finishing top of each group will progress to the Knockout Cup semi-finals.  The winners of group A will play the winners of group B.  The winners of group C will play the winners of group D.

The teams finishing second in each group will progress to the Knockout Plate semi-finals.  The runners-up of group A will play the runners-up of group B.  The runners-up of group C will play the runners-up of group D.
