An enjoyable nights snooker but disapointment for City as we once again fail to quite hit the mark. It certainly is a game of fine margains - well played Lenton though.
At City
Chris Willett 43 lost to Adam Goodall 47 (black ball game)
John Bakewell 8 lost to J murrin 79
Sean Croft 53 beat T Clarke 17
Buckley/Archer beat Hamlin/Wright 49-37
It was a tight and well contested frame between the long awaited return of Chris Willett and Lenton captain Adam Goodall but the more experienced Lenton Player won out on the black. J Murrin won out comfortably against debutant John Bakewell but Sean Croft discovered his true form to dispose of T Clarke in impressive style. Buckley and Archer got the 2-2 for City playing well in defeating Hamlin and Wright to take the frame.
At Lenton
Matt Savage 68 Rob Wallace 15
Steve Dixon 15 Russ Kirk 65 (2 out of two well played Russ)
James Woods 70 Jordan Parnham 39
Melvin Smith 74 Steve Tring 36
Matt Savage easily accounted for an off colour (in fact he barely potted one) Rob wallace whilst on the other table Russ Kirk continued his impressive for Cityto hammer Steve Dixon with some impressive potting. However Steve Woods defeated Jordan Parnham in a long drawn out tactical frame and Melvin Smith got the better of Steve Tring in a scrappy encounter.
Cheers
Rob

At City Hospital: 2 - 2

Trevor Clarke 17 - 53 Sean Scoft
Roy Hamlin/Jim Wright 37 - 49 Dave Buckley/Lee Archer
Good to get our first win on the board after our 7-1 drubbing last week.
Close fought match which could of gone either way with a couple of black ball frames in our away leg. With the exception of James frame, in only his second ever match putting in a very solid performance, only missing a couple of shots and not giving John a look in at all.
Very well played Lenton but come city another lost. :exclamation:
