The gulf in class was there for all to see as Stadium Leisure took on Pegasus Snooker Club A in the Knockout Cup.
At Stadium, Wayne Martin started well against Steve Butler but the Stadium player dug deep and set about trying to restrict Martin's chances. In the latter half of the frame, Martin started to miss a few chances and Butler was able to edge into the lead. Some good fortune also helped Butler but he still lost out 44-58. Matt Ellis did his best against Nav Hussain but the Pegasus star won 82-40 to put his team 56 points up. Zeb Ahmed and Ross Wilkin both potted some great balls in a tight frame which Ahmed edged 69-48. Ellis and Butler then took on Hussain and Martin in the pairs. Hussain was in deadly form but to their credit the Stadium pair held their own and only just lost out 48-65. This gave Pegasus a 94 point lead from the Stadium leg.
At Pegasus, Jamie Mathers outplayed Daniel Di Folco to win the opening frame 60-25. Bob Walker hit back in style for Stadium, making a 39 break on the way to a 60-46 victory against Danny Castel-Nuovo. James Booth then stretched Pegasus' lead to 65 points with a good 78-34 victory over Pete Gormley. The pairs frame was extremely close but the Pegasus duo of Castel-Nuovo and Booth beat Di Folco and Walker 69-59 to ensure that Pegasus won the leg by 75 points.

Thanks to the Pegasus home leg for their understanding as Stadium nearly didn't have the three players required until Pete Gormley arrived!
The match was played in great spirit and the chip cobs were lovely (sorry guys, they brought them out just after you left!)

NOT FAIR, WE DESERVED THEM CHIPS WITH KETCHUP AFTER THOSE VERY TIGHT FRAMES... I KNOW THEY ARE SO LOVVVELY !!! ;)
Thanks for the report Steve, very tight match at home and away.
I have to agree with Mr 147 on this though - no chips!!!!!!
An enjoyable but tough match. Me being a bit slow with maths and stuff, just realised easiest way to think of it is 10 points handicap per frame, in the words of paul daniels, not a lot! Uphill struggle but we did our best!
