Beeston climbed ominously into the title race with a comprehensive victory over fellow title challengers Pegasus.
Beeston were deserved winners with a whitewash victory at home over a strong Pegasus side who needed the victory to put some pressure on runaway leaders BCI at the top of the table.
Pegasus welcomed back the awesome Chris Brooks, who dominated his frame, making a 41 break.
Wayne Martin lost out to Tom Walters, who started solidly with a 43 break which should have been a lot more.
Clint I'Anson took control of his frame with James Booth who started brightly but never really had another decent chance.
The pairs frame was a close affair with Booth eventually potting the winning balls to make sure honours were even at Pegasus.
Pegasus (2-2):
Chris Brooks 84 (41 break) v 7 Johnny Kareer
Wayne Martin 28 v Tom Walters 72 (43 Break)
James Booth 26 v 64 Clint I'Anson
Brooks/Booth 61 v 40 I'Anson/Hodgkinson
Beeson: (Scores to follow)
The damage was effectively done at Beeston who apparently hardly missed a ball all night at home - more details to follow.
Well played Beeston, it looks like its now a two horse race for the title with some big games coming up to decide the 2009/2010 league title.
Hi Wayne,
expected at least a draw from this match,2 great teams,i thought it'd have been much more even a scoreline, hats off to Beeston tho' nice lads.
Oh! . . .Wayne, perhaps you should blame me,for losing to Tom Walters.the cue he was using was one he bought from me just before xmas,
and he's obviously got used to the 'feel' of it already . . .sorry Wayne blame me,but Toms a great lad, either you were off form,or he just out played you in this particular frame?
Cheers Wayne mate
