A cracking match between two experienced campaigners with Martin just scrapping past the excellent James Moore.
Martin received 7 points start per frame.
Frame 1:
Martin keeping Moore tight and building up a 20 point lead thanks to a few fouls by Moore.
Martin then got in amongst the balls and made 30 to extend his lead to 67 points.
Martin eventually closing out the frame with the colours left on the table.
Frame 2:
Martin again getting 20 in front before Moore managed to level things up.
A tight safety battle ensued with both players producing some high quality shots under pressure.
The frame eventually going down to the last three balls with Martin needing all three and Moore needing just the one.
Martin had some run here but laid a great snooker behind the pink of which Moore could not escape.
Martin then potted a high quality blue to the middle pocket, the pink into the middle pocket from tight on the baulk rail and
the black with the rest into the corner for a great win over a fantastic player.
Unlucky James, I had a few lucky breaks tonight that made the small difference between us both.
great result mate...those last 3 balls sounded something special :bravo: :bravo: :bravo:
Yes, well done. I wish I had been there to film it!
Great result Wayne ;)
I say a Great result! Because it was a great match featuring two great players!!!
Mr Moore "In the captains office Now!" Lol
No pressure Wayne but we at Pegasus are quite proud of our recent Handicap Singles record over the last couple of years and would kind of like to keep it going as it looks like yet another barren year for the teams.
2008 Chris Piech
2009 Jamie Mathers
2010 Wayne Martin ?
I've got Keith Holgate tomorrow so it's definetely down to you
Come on mate....you can do it (just pretend it's another Eastwood Handicap)
LOL - I'll be too scared to play now you have mentioned that Mike!!!
Never noticed the record before.
I suppose the good thing was I actually managed to pot those last few balls on the match table at BCI (Pesky tight pockets).
We played the match there as its like home for both players.
I must admit James played some amazing safety, his useof side off thecushion was brilliant during some points of the match, especially when I put him in a snooker - he is top quality!!!!
