ENGLISH REGIONAL JUNIOR TOUR EVENT 3
North ? Hartlepool SC
Martin Ball runner up in Event 1 North of the English Regional Junior Tour climbed to the top of the rankings from a total of 55 players after winning Event 3, Hartlepool SC beating Antony Jeffers 2-0 in the final.
With the win Ball the 3rd different winner in the series heads the rankings, Mitchell Travis who won Event 2 is 2nd and Thomas Pendlebury winner of the 1st Event is 3rd,
Kevin Yates 4th , Carl Mottershaw 5th and Jeffers 6th.
Both the frames in the final went to the wire (56-45) and (65-55), Ball had secured a 2-1 win in the semi final over Kevin Yates on the black with a 35 clearance after beating Christopher Keogan and Jordan Watson 2-0.
To reach his first final Jeffers won all his games in the knockout stage 2-1 beating Travis, Gordon Lam and Pendlebury.
Travis and James Voyce headed the group winner?s statistics with 11-1 frame score lines next came James Jelley and Gareth Green 12-3.
And Mottershaw unbeaten as well, Sanderson Lam, Ball both losing a match all posted 9-3 scores with only 5 players in the groups after withdrawals. Oliver Brown 6-3 topped his 4 player section losing a game.
South ? Cambridge SC
For the 3rd consecutive time Ben Harrison and Nathan Jones clashed in the South?s final the first two Harrison won this time Jones came out on top 2-1 in the final of Event 3, Cambridge SC.
Harrison with the two wins under his belt leads the rankings from 38 players, Jones 2nd, Ryan Mears 3rd, James Sumner 4th, Sam Harvey 5th and Shane Castle 6th.
The winner only lost one frame all day until the final keeping a clean sheet in the knockout stage beating Harvey, Sean O?Sullivan and Callum Downing all 2-0 plus Jones made the most breaks over forty, five, topped by the days best a 69.
Harrison accounted for Shahrukh Nasir 2-1 and then Billy Castle and Mears 2-0.
Besides the finalists winning their groups unbeaten, Mears 9-0 and Lawrence Oliver 6-0 posted faultless scores other group winners Billy Castle, Sumner and Adam Bobat all unbeaten, Shane Castle lost a match.
