Title: Handicap Singles: Keith Holgate 2-0 Mike Langdon

Keith Holgate 2-0 Mike Langdon

Sadly having seen off Danny Castel-Nuovo and Stewart Crosswell the scalping season came to an abrupt end for Langdon against the excellent Keith Holgate.  Langdon never really got going in the first frame and with reds scattered around the table (something i really didn't want to see against such a good opponent) it was Holgate who got in first making a good 35 contribution to wipe away the 14 handicap which was soon followed by another couple 20 breaks to win the first frame comfortably.

The second frame was a bit closer but the difference in class was plain to see.  At least i finally got my safety game going which had been far to slack throughout the match to put a little pressure on but it was Holgate who came from behind with a good 33 clearance down to the pink to win 2-0.

well played mate and all the best in the next round

Hard luck Mike.

It's so great to see the 3 times Notts Amateur champion gracing the NHSL with his presence.  Do you know if he will be playing in a team next season if we have the 3 man teams?

dunno mate I think he struggles on a tuesday.  He might be joining the singles league though which would be great as it would add even more quality to an already impressive field.
