ENGLISH REGIONAL JUNIOR TOUR

EVENT 3 – FIVE ZONES – 89 PLAYERS


The first snow of the winter mainly in the East slightly affected attendances at Event 3 where all the five Zone winners hit the top of their respective rankings with Mark Green, Salisbury making the highest break 106.

Zone 1 – Top Cue – Gloucester (10 players)
Green who lost in the first two finals ended the day's play of Event 3 in style making a 106 break in the last frame of a 2-0 win over James Sumner, Bournemouth who climbs to 6th place.

The winner lost a match in his group, Haydon Pinhey won the other group despite losing two matches.

Green leads on 587 points, Michael Rogers, Taunton 525 points and 3rd Declan Bristow, Bristol 406.

Zone 2 – Grove SC – Romford (22)
Luke Godfrey, Hastings winner of Event 1 defeated Phil O'Kane, Sidcup 2-0 in the final to claim his 2nd title' O'Kane rises to 7th place.

Danny Douane made the highest break a 60 in the semi final against Godfrey who replied with 47 win 2-1.

Group winners Adam Bobat, Fareham, Scott Bell, Tunbridge Wells at least a quarter finalist in all 3 events, Jordan Wimborne, Southampton and both finalist's only Bell losing a match.

Godfrey leads again on 480 point's, Bobat 450 and Bell 423 are in promotion contention at present.

Zone 3 – Willie Thorne SC – Leicester (16)
Chris Wakelin, Rugby in his 3rd consecutive final with his 2nd successive win made a 50 clearance to beat the home club's Sameer Kinght 2-1 the winner also made the day's highest break earlier 85 to go with efforts of 66,50 and 49.

Both finalists won their groups along with Ashik Nathwani, Leicester who made a 70 break, James Jelley, Leicester who shared the first two finals with Wakelin never lost a frame in his group and all of the day's 8 knockout matches went to the final frame.

Wakelin 631 points, Jelley 557 and Knight 451 lead the way in this Zone.

Zone 4 – George Scott SC – Liverpool (16)
The home towns Clayton Humphries beat Jason Tart, Blackpool making his debut 2-1 with a 75 break, Humphries recorded the venue's best break earlier 80.

Again both finalists won their groups Tart virtue of a head to head result, Steven Giles, Bilston and Ryan Hickman, Manchester also topped their sections.
       
Humphries is on 631 points, James Myers also Liverpool 383, Giles 382, Joe Steele, Bilston 351 and Jordan Rimmer, Birmingham 350 still have a shout in the rankings, runner up Tart straight in at 10th place on 181 points.

Zone 5 – Eckington SC – Sheffield (25)
Again this area produced the biggest field plus 24 breaks over forty topped by a 82 break from runner up Darryl Hill, Isle of Man who lost in the final 2-0 to Anthony Green, Bradford.

Green did not win his group finishing 2nd behind Michael Williams, Hartlepool, Hill, English Under 14 Champion Oliver Lines, Leeds, Thomas Saddington, Hull and Daniel Womersley, Leeds topped theirs the latter winning all his 16 frames played until losing 2-0 to Hill in the semi finals.

Green leads with 466 points, Donacaster's, Chris Keoghan 451 and Oliver Calland 402 in the hunt as well Hill and Womersley on 391 plus Lines with 387 points.
