BROTHERS IN FINAL AGAIN
Stephen Craigie, Newcastle added Event 5, Grove SC, Romford for his 5th successive win, English Premier Tour and for the 3rd consecutive time defeating brother Sam in the final this time 4-0.
Craigie senior won the first two frames without a break the 2nd on the black then rolled in runs of 76 and 73 to complete the whitewash.
Kyren Wilson made a 147 in the Saturday group stage during a 3-0 win over Tom Kerslake which included runs of 56 and 64 in total the field made 14 century's.
Craigie edged the Max Man Wilson 4-3 in the last 16, a 94 break to lead 2-1, 83 for 3-3, Craigie 72,67 and a deciding frame 61 the winner then comfortably beat Tom Maxfield 4-1, 88 break and Nick Jennings 4-0 with breaks of 107 and 57.
Both Craigie's lost matches in the round robins numbers depleted by eleven players due to the heavy snowfall, Stephen lost 3-2 to Kamran Ashraf who made breaks of 75 and 110, Sam lost 3-1 to Daniel Hildyard and required to win his final match 3-0 he duly obliged with consecutive tons of 111, 109 and 111 again to beat Ryan Clark.
Craigie junior also scored will in the knockout phase beating George Marter 4-1 with breaks of 89,84 and 55, Mitchell Mann 4-3, 82, Craigie 72 and finally Nathan Jones 4-3 who led 3-1, Craigie 52 and to finish efforts of 65, 83 and 113 in order.
Six players topped their groups with out losing a match Ashraf, Mitchell Travis, Sean O'Sullivan, Billy Castle, Mitchell Mann and Nick Jennings who recorded the best frame difference 12-2. Wilson and Sam Craigie lost a match.
At the top of the rankings Stephen Craigie leads with 1625 points, Sam is on 1030, Tom Maxfield remains in 3rd place 847 points, Jennings climbs to 4th on 810 still 5th Mitchell Mann 805, Wilson up to 6th from 9th 699, 7th Joel Walker 681 and 8th absent again Jack Lisowski 640 points.
