Pegasus 'B' 4-4 City Hospital Leisure Centre
Mike Langdon (40)
City Hospital Leisure Centre put in an impressive team performance to take a point off promotion chasing Pegasus Snooker Club 'B'. At Pegasus, Jordan Parnham enjoyed a very close win over Steve Booth to put City Hospital one up in a tactical encounter. Andy Orange got back to winning ways for Pegasus with a resounding 71-28 victory over City Hospital's Rob Wallace to level before Pegasus new boy Jamie Sampson broke his duck making a 20 something break in a comfortable win against Les Smith. Meanwhile down at City Hospital Leisure Centre the opening two frames of the night were shared. City Hospital's John Bakewell was in excellent form as he hammered Eric Towle 59-10. Mr Consistent aka Ken Michell levelled the match a few minutes later with a comprehensive win over the ever improving Sean Croft before Dave Buckley had too much experience for Pegasus youngster Chris Mathers to put City Hospital 2-1 up. Late arrival Mike Langdon then ensured the leg would be halved by very nearly clearing up from 6 reds out. Sadly for Langdon, with perhaps a potential Division 2 high break trophy clouding his concentration he missed a simple brown into the middle with a 62 clearance looking more likely than the 40 break he had to settle for. This all meant that the result would be decided in the final pairs frame at Pegasus where Orange & Sampson would take on Parnham & Smith. It was the City Hospital pair that played the better snooker and rightly levelled the match at 4-4 with an excellent 75-28 win.
well played City Hospice....cracking match played in great spirit. Best of luck for the play-offs and with us having to play Nottingham Uni next week it's not certain that we won't be joining you in them.
Cheers
Mike
