Title: Pegasus 'A' 2-6 Arnold Civil Defence 'A' (23/02/10)
Post by: Wayne Martin on 24 February 2010
Arnold played superbly in beating Pegasus 'A' by 6 frames to 2.
A terrific display by Chris Winter who produced breaks of 92 & 83 in his singles and doubles frames at Pegasus.

The damage being inflicted at Pegasus with a whitewash victory for the away team.
The in-form Winter playing brilliant snooker and could have actually made two 140+ breaks on the same night.

Pegasus 0 v Arnold 4:
The home sides Chris Brooks could do nothing but watch as Winter made 93 to take the opening frame.
Next up was Jamie Mathers vs Arnold's Captain Gary Spencer. An open but scrappy frame with Spencer doing enough to deny Pegasus a frame. James Notman then made it 3 nil with a heavy victory over James Booth to put Arnold in the driving seat.
The pairs looked great on paper with Brooks/Mathers taking on Spencer/Winter, but Winter struck again with a great 83 to take the spoils after producing some fantastic snooker.

Arnold 2 v Pegasus 2:
John Fountain gave Arnold a solid start after a nervy win over Nav Hussain, Fountain making a solid 44 break before letting Hussain off the hook. Hussain made several small contributions to level things up before Fountain put the frame out of reach on the pink.

Malc Belshaw then took on Danny Castel-Nuovo in a scrappy affair with both players missing excellent opportunities.
Castel-Nuovo eventually taking the frame late on to level things up.

Brian Kinton played the third leg against Wayne Martin, Martin making a 35 break to pull clear and then winning the frame with the last red on the table.
Pegasus had to win the pairs to get a result at Arnold but it wasn't to be as Fountain/Belshaw took on Martin/Castel-Nuovo.
The Pegasus pair having the early advantage but Martin missed a great opportunity to make a sizeable break and allowed Arnold back into the game. The frame eventually going down to the pink with Fountain making no mistakes and making the match a draw at Arnold.

Well done Arnold, brilliant play by the man of the moment Winter.
