Title: Handicap Pairs: Winter/Spencer 2-1 Hearson-Ellis/Butler
Post by: Steve Butler on 24 February 2010
Chris Winter and Gary Spencer knocked out the defending champions in a cagey match at Arnold Civil Defence.  The Stadium pair were receiving a 21 point start.

Winter and Spencer won a tight opening frame and it looked like they were going to make it a whitewash as Spencer knocked in a 37 break.  However Butler replied with a 33 break to level the match at 1-1.

The deciding frame was a little one sided thanks to a couple of 20+ breaks from Winter and some good potting from Spencer.  Having scored only one point Butler and Hearson-Ellis soon found themselves requiring two snookers.  Unfortunately Winter fluked the penultimate red and the Stadium pair conceded.

Congratulations to Chris & Gary who will now play Barry Stark and Ray Brooks in the semi-finals.

Unlucky duckies, sounded like a tough match - going out 2-1 away against high calibre (bit like me) Chris & Gary
was no disgrace! ;)
