Title: Promotion & Relegation
Post by: Steve Butler on 16 January 2008
Following Sherwood A's withdrawal from the league we have been discussing whether one or two teams should be relegated from division 1 this season.

What do you think? Please vote....

I would suggest, under the circumstances, only one team relegated and two promoted, You need to keep the first division strong and leave spaces in division 2 for any new teams. I know we have turned it round this season and managed to put a few results together also Peoples Hall have got a couple of handy players in Zeb and John MARSHALL, theres also E.M.I. and Phoenix.  So yes you take a gamble of teams coming in of unknown quality. So, if we are still going ahead with the play-off situation it may have to be re-addressed.
Assuming that Sherwood'A' were to be classed as the team finishing bottom and relegated, then the team finishing next bottom would go into a play-off with the teams finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th in Div 2.
So, for this year, I have voted that only one team (Sherwood 'A') would be relegated as such

Thanks for the vote Alan, I agree with your thoughts on this.  Hopefully a couple more new teams next season and we could end up with 10 in division 1 anyway.

One more post and you'll be a blue ball member.............
