Golden Dragon Premier League fixture James Moore 2 Malcolm Belshaw 2
A tough hard fought match filled with high quality safety play contested by two past masters who know each others game very well. Frame 1 saw Malcolm get off to a good start going 20 points up only for James to patiently claw his way back into it with a few small contributions and some cagey safety play. With one red left James had a lead of 24 points and from then on the frame was packed with incident, James going in off the green twice, once when he clipped a good green in the middle pocket playing with strong left hand side and bottom to try and secure position on the brown only for the white to agonisingly go in off into the opposite middle pocket. Malcolm potted then green brown and blue and at this stage was leading by 6 on the pink. There was a long bout of safety on the pink with the black 3ft up tight on the side cushion. James played a safety leaving the pink near the black and the white the other end of the table, Malcolm only needing pink and black tied up tried an ambitious attempt at the pot on the pink which he completely miss hit ending up cannoning out the safe black but fortunately leaving the pink safe. James played probably the best shot of the frame laying an excellent snooker right behind the black only for Malcolm to perform a remarkable escape and leaving the balls in a pretty safe position, eventually James potted the pink but did not gain position on the black right and chanced his arm at a long black only to leave the black near the green pocket and Malcolm duly slotted it in to take the opening frame. Macolm 1-0.
Frame two saw Malcolm continue to pot solidly and giving nothing away with some excellent tactical play consolidating his lead to 2-0 and therefore leaving the reigning premier league champion on the ropes and a lot to think about, James was not relishing another two gruelling frames and the writing looked well and truly on the wall. Malcolm leads 2-0.
Frame three saw James open up a nice lead going about forty points up early with a couple of twenty breaks only for Malcolm to pot a very tricky red in the middle from tight off the cushion and gaining very nice position on the blue going onto make a good 26 only to fall down on missing a pink after unluckily getting a bad contact when it looked likely the way the balls were situated he might make 50 plus. James feeling relieved managed to take the frame. Malcolm leads 2-1.
Frame four saw James again start the frame well opening up with a forty break but in typical dogged style Malcolm hung in during the frame and with 3 reds left trailing by 42 points he countered very well indeed potting the 3 reds with blacks and gaining excellent position on the yellow potting that and then pots the green slightly over hitting position on the brown not allowing him enough angle to get position on the blue which was on the top cushion so he played a good safety after a very well taken 33 break and now right back in the frame . Again a long bout of good safety until Malcolm left James a half chance and he managed to pot it and secure the frame leaving honours even for the night. James 2-2 Malcolm.
A tough opening match where no quarter was given, Malcolm played extremely well with some excellent tactical play and solid potting.
I cant ever remember having an opponent in countless difficult positions but each time Malcolm cancelled it out with good escapes.
Very well played Malcolm I think your good play deserved more than the 2 all score-line.
Wow that's some match report James, the Jobs yours M8
Sounds like a real good battle there James! Malc is a Wirely old fox, i hope he don't mind me saying
Your both are very tough and very experienced players so no results surprise me, thats why we love or hate the game at times!!! Very Easy or Very Frustrating at times.
Conditions on that match table can be tricky at times, with winter coming it may be a good idea to fit heating under the match table so we get more consistency a big pluss for us all!!! That'll Add a bit of heat to the winter league hey!!!
Anyway a very long tough drawn out season ahead of you both, Still looking at the positives M8 you still kept your 100% unbeaten record, early days yet Champ
Well played Malc :bravo: :bravo:
Cpt Kwok :smokey: "The designer Captain CK!" hey Malc
Premier League fixture Jamie Moore 2 Chris Winter 2
Frame 1
Both players started tentatively with a lot of safety because the balls ran into awkward positions, Jamie making the most of a few little contributions building a frame winning lead. Chris concedes with two reds left. Moore 1-0
Frame 2
Was nip and tuck with neither player really making the most of their opportunities. Chris prevailing on the pink. Moore 1-1
Frame 3
Chris started to find his range building a 40 point lead whilst Jamie's game falling to pieces. There was a safety exchange and then Chris left Jamie a long red which required a loop bridge cueing from near the side cushion, he pots it and makes a timely 27 to get back into the frame and then later makes another 20 odd to take the frame. Chris couldn't help commenting "I threw that one away ". Moore 2-1
Frame 4
Chris broke loose with a very good frame winning 60 break to level the match. Moore 2-2
Both players struggled not showing there normal form however Chris could be excused as he waited patiently for over an hour for the match to start because my games took so long in the Nazareth House league matches. To be honest I consider a 2-2 with Chris a good result and would have been happy for that score-line before the match started considering my current lack of form.
Still unbeaten champ, bit like Man Utd ie not playing great but nobody seems to be able to beat them. One things for sure when you come out of this dip the wins will come and the title challenge will begin. Reckon you could do with stopping Mr Holgates charge in your next game though.
Mike
I will play my way out of it, be a good game with Keith I hope.....
Lee Crombie 1 Jamie Moore 3
Good win for Jamie (his first of the campaign!!) against an in form Lee Crombie who was striking the ball well in what was a very good match. Lee opened up with an excellent 78 break in the first frame which could have been more as there was 4 reds still available. Jamie made a few thirties and forties in the next frames however Lee nearly dished up in a couple of frames which could have made the scoreline different.
Much better form from Jamie- lets hope it continues.
Bad luck Lee and thanks for the game.
well played jamie, sounds like a good match. Looks like lee must have played well with a good 78 break.
Cheers Nav I'm hitting a much better ball now, I might make it awkward for Keith and Bash for you as they have to come to Bulwell soon.
Top stuff there gentlemen nice 78 break from Crombie great win Jamie. :bravo:
Jamie- What days/time are you free for that knock i keep forgeting to call you we will defo have to arrange a session.
My games up & down at the minute but its getting better slowly, im just playing most shots plain ball now and its working mate.
Malc Belshaw 0 Jamie Moore 4
Good solid win for Jamie against Malc to continue his recent good form... started well in the first frame and had the frame won on the colours....second frame mslc made a very good 39 brk before trying to roll up behind the yellow he overhit it failing to snooker Jamie...this proved crucial because Malc leading by 40 with three reds left Jamie a long red which he played as a shot to nothing and laid a delicate snooker behind the brown..by the time Malc got out the snooker he was only leading by 9 and Jamie went on to take a crucial frame which was looking unlikely... Moore let loose in the third with a 53 and a thirty odd....final frame Malc built a 40 point lead but jamie hit back well to pinch it...unlucky malc you played quite well and deserved at least one frame...
Two wins on the bounce now for Jamie...hoping to cause the players at the top a few headaches in the matches coming up.....
nice win Jamie and bad luck malc - i think were both buzzing at the minute and both striking the white very well - I think our Notts amateur clash will be a cracker - may the best man win!!
Can play it any time, there's no rush - probably play it towards the end of feb if its ok with you - but let me know if you want to play it sooner or later.
Cheers, Bash
Your outstanding at the minute James i cant wait to play against you sometime soon maybe. A Great win over a tricky opponent because you never know what your going to get with Malc Belshaw! abit like The Rocket
Malc very unlucky Mate and i wish you the best, but unfortunatley your gonna have to stop playing me because the few breaks i keep knocking in against you and beating you of scratch all the time is not helping your game mate ;)
:welldone:
Sean Croft
yep well done james, good win and to come from behind twice aswell well played :bravo: :bravo:
Nav Hussain 1 - 3 Jamie Moore
Another solid win for Jamie...got on top early in the first frame and kept leaving Nav tricky shots which he was unluckily unable to convert....Nav conceded with a couple of reds on the table....second frame much tighter and very competitively contested Nav with a good long pink takes the frame....again close third frame Jamie clears final red and colours to lead 2-1....final frame Jamie starts well with 30 odd and controls the frame to win 3-1...
Very unlucky Nav you didn't find your true form tonight....always like playing you because you play a very attractive game which is very good to watch....
Good luck in the rest of your matches!!..
Well played Jamie, a well deserved victory, you took your chances well to keep the pressure on. This league gonna have a tight finish.
Another good win james, after a slow start your picking up the results now.
Very well done James, Going to pegasus and getting a result over Nav was a hard task, Premier A really is going to go down to the last games i reckon, I already put my bet on whos going to win it though at the start of the season lol!!!
;) :welldone:
was that 2 games on one night ??? Can be a good idea but can also backfire - looks like jamie is buzzing and is heading straight up the table with no more messing.
Well done Jamie - Nav, always being a tough opponent.
I know i will have to me on my toes when we meet in the notts amateur.
Well done mate
Bash
Unlucky Nav- Great win James over Nav & as the crawler says your picking up the results nicely now mate so keep it up James :welldone:
:bravo:
Sean Croft
Bash, it did backfire. I went to sherwood and played on their table, then headed to Pegasus straight away. My safety let me down big time all down to different pace at Pegasus. Jamie adjusted to the pace quickly and I was still playing on the sherwood table , messed my game up. Jamie did deserve to win as he took the chances that were given to him. I played really well in practice sessions with bash but not playing often can make the game fall apart. Back on the practice table.
Cheers nav snake james bash n sean...I'm pleased with the result because nav is a quality player with good potting n break building... if u want a practice any night nav give me a shout... cheers
Playing on two tables at different clubs can screw. Your game up a little. Things still looking tight in premier a. Anyway, to cheer up a little, I got a classic nick name for you :
"SAT" Nav Hussain !
Hope you see it as a compliment for your precise cueball location.
If that name does stick with you, then I want all royalties on future earnings!
Cheers
Bash
Bash your just being to kind to Nav. Sat Nav is a great name cos if and when he does miss a long pot the trademark shots he's so good at they miss by a mile and go round the table and still find a hole. Gotta love it. Sorry Nav. You know I love ya. Lol
gaz, you know that i have a back up plan if the shot does go wrong... planning is the key to success, no?
with every adversity comes with it a seed of equivalent success, no? ;)
Billiards James Moore 200 Jonathan Mason 38
Jamie managing to score the required amount with a few tidy contributions 57,47 and 45.
Looking forward to the final...
Steve , I hope it is going to be a little more than 200 up, it used to be 500 up.
Cheers Jamie
Well done jamie. If I get to the final, I don't mind playing to 500. I am sure Wayne wouldn't mind as well if he gets there. It's mice to someone playing good billiards. Anyway, now you've played 8 pints, can I have my random number generator back please. I'm gonna need it against Wayne.
Bash
Jamie Moore 1 Keith Holgate 3
Solid performance by Keith winning 3-1 after losing the first frame...no real breaks of note just solid matchplay snooker...
Well played Keith you're a tough nut to crack!
I watched this game and I would like to make a point on the sportsmanship of Jamie .... Keith is 2-1 up with brown to black left. As Keith has got down to pot brown someone sticks they head at the door as he's delivering the cue .... misses it and leaves all the colours on ...... Jamie isn't happy with it and offers Keith the rerack . True gent and this kind of respect is why it's classed as a gentlemans game ... I tip my hat to you Jay :bravo: :bravo:
That's cause jamie told that bloke to stick his round that door and then felt really guilty afterwards.
Bash
Moore is a top man, thats why..... may be keith told the guy to pop his head when jamie was on the table, but did it when keith was on it. he got it mixed up. LOL ...
Keith is right up there now with bash, a loss for bash could mean keith could snatch it, what a build up...
I got no worries there nav, only cause I can rely on you to beat Keith ! I just hope Keith doesn't bribe you with his backshafting, as he did with Jamie. I always thought Keith and Jamie make a lovely couple.
Bash
Sorry, I meant backhander
Give me your chalk pouch coz i cant get into the flow without it, so GIVE IT TO ME BASH and i may do you a favour !!!
Nav, I never used a pouch before and as you definitly want, I best not change the habbits of a lifetime, so its yours. They cost 7 quid and its yours for free(*), just get me a j2o when we meet next week.
Bash
* free, subject to you beating Keith
Keep your options open Nav because Keith might have a more generous proposition!!
LOL...
