FOUR TONS DURING PLAY
Ben Woollaston climbed five places to 2nd in his home clubs Open Series, Willie Thorne?s, Leicester after winning the 10th event beating Guy Fraser 2-0 in a reduced final taking both frames easily.
Total entry?s in the series rose to 87 as the days 26 players included 8 new entrants this year, Fraser straight in at 27th place, Simon Seabridge still leads despite missing another event, Woollaston leads his club mate Joe Jogia by just one point, Kristain Willetts drops from 2nd to 4th.
The winner coasted through to the final defeating Sameer Knight and Mike Smith both 4-1 with back to back breaks of 105 and 127 against Smith followed by a 4-0 whitewash of Salim Ullah.
He made breaks of 61 and 70 to beat EASB Under 16 Champion Sam Craigie 3-1 in the last eight, Craigie 58 and 64 and finally Joe Jogia also 3-1 who opened with an 80.
Fraser lost in the top half of the draw 4-1 to Jogia, 104 then cruised the losers section
beating Dean Holme and James Jelley 4-0, Sameer Knight 110 break earlier 3-0 and lastly weary Mike Smith 3-1, 57 break.
Jason Bates won the plate beating James Hastie 2-0 making breaks during the event of 70,79 and 82.
