It is with huge regret that I have to inform you of a very sad loss,
On December 19th Richard Bullock (known on here as Dumbledore) passed away.
It is still not known what happened or the reason for this huge loss.
Richard was a key member of the Willowbrook Wizards and was one of the starting line up from the creation of our team; he was always enthusiastic about our sport and enjoyed every aspect of the game. Like everything Richard did he applied himself to the game with 100% even to the level of reading the snooker rules 4 or 5 times just in case an obscure situation arose.
He would be quite happy to grind out a game with anyone and would never ever give up, (even if he needed 15 snookers).
But more than that Richard was a great character, and was well liked by everyone he came into contact with, and he was arguably the best match reporter the forum has seen, always with a well structured comical approach to how the matches were played out (and quite often having a dig at his team mates along the way)
Richard will be a huge loss to our snooker community and will be sorely missed by all of his team mates – Rob Lord, Ant Lord, Adam Corbett, Ash Sanders, Ian Pointer, Gary Mckenzie and Alex McKenzie to name just a few, the Willowbrook Club does not seem the same without him, as I am sure the other communities he was involved in will echo this.
Our love goes to Richards wife and children at this very sad time.
Richard you will be sadly missed mate – RIP
Its hard to say anything reply to that, RIP Richard your wit will be missed by us all.
Well put mate. A very sad loss and we will all miss him.
RIP x
Miss you Rich x
Very nicely put glenn and agree with everything you said.
Always found him very polite and very welcoming, and his match reports were amongst the best always found gigling and chuckling at his reports.
RIP Richard :'(
This is quite simply as far as im concerned very tragic news!!
I thought Rich' was fab,he really appealed to my sense of humour.
One particular moment i will NEVER EVER forget.
I was about to break off, just as i turned round the cue ball seemed to have grown in size 'TENFOLD'.
What had happened was . .
Richard in his usual intimate wisdom had swapped the white for a much larger 'hockey ball' (i think it was),this caused my next remark of 'WTF'!!
I'm sure Glenn,Rob,Ant will remember the incident?
I find this very hard to 'take in' that Richard who was always a 'friend' is no longer around . .
Simply, please pass on my condolences to his wife and children.
A simply fab guy who i for one, will miss greatly!!
RIP Richard . . .I am one of MANY who will miss you.
Sorry to hear this awful news. Richard was revered by all off us for his fabulous reports, his good sense of fun when you played him, and for being part of a friendly team.
RIP - Richard "Dumbledore" Bullock. You will be sorely missed by all of us.
I was very saddened when I heard the news. I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to Richard's family and close friends. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must be for them.
Very sorry to hear this. I only met Richard once and he seemed a nice fella. The growing number of replies tells us he was a popular chap and important member of the Notts Snooker community. RIP.
A sad loss of a genuine guy. RIP.
Such sad news. My deepest sympathy to all family and friends.
Hi Glenn
Condolences (On behalf of BCI D) to Richards family and friends. A top bloke who will be sadly missed
Paul
Deepest sympathy to Richards family and close friends, luckily because of the NBSA cup format my team had the pleasure of playing the Wizzards and had the chance to meet Richard. Exactly what Glenn so perfectly worded, Richard was a lovely genuinely friendly fella absolute pleasure to have played against and always enjoyed the great friendly banter. It's people like Richard that the Nottingham snooker will sadly miss, Condolences from all my BCI E'lites, Super Elites team member and indeed everybody from the BCI Snooker centre.
RIP Richard, you will be sadly missed!!!
Devoted man who loved his family, his work and his sport
BY day, Richard Bullock was a familiar figure striding through Nottingham Magistrates' Court on his way to defend clients.
But by night, and the father-of-three swapped his formal wear for a hockey shirt and was among the more well-known faces of the crowd of Panthers supporters.
Since his death at his home in Arnold Lane, Gedling, on December 19, tributes have flooded in from legal professionals who knew him for his "high level of integrity".
