Thanks to Glenn and the Willowbrook lads for the suggestion of a friendly match last night in order to add a few quid to the coffers for Steve and Jon's charity When You Wish Upon A Star.
Ten of us got together on a Monday night and played a lot of fun, semi-competitive snooker, playing singles, doubles and scotch doubles under the glare of the fabulous Lenton lights and Jon Sully's paparazzi zoom lens.
The result was irrelevant (ok, Willowbrook beat Lenton LC 9-5), this was really about using the power of snooker to add some money to the worthy fund already created for Steve and Jon's year long trip around the snooker venues in Nottinghamshire.
I'm pleased to say that thanks to the generosity of the players, the bingo players in the club and Lenton Liberal Club for giving us free lights for the night, that we managed to raise exactly £50, which for a cold Monday night in murky February isn't a bad shout. A lot of it came from player fines for fouls, flukes and frowned upon safety shots, but it has to be said everyone in the building threw in some dosh and it all added up to a great night with some witty banter (apart from one serious question as to whether we were playing the miss rule).
Perhaps we could do this again one day?
Jon, if you go to the 'downloads' section (top menu) you should be able to work out how to add your photos by clicking 'add a download'. It's better than trying to email them to me.
It sounds like a great time was had by all and no doubt plenty of cheap beer consumed!

Just tried to download one and it says "Download not approved". I think the file size may be too big, which might be why the one I attached to the original post has not appeared either.
Great report jon,yes was a great night thanks to all who attended and a big thank you to willowbrook, the staff at lenton and also the bingo players for there donations, hopefully we can do it again soon and it would be great if other teams could follow suit and have a enjoyable nights snooker like we did.
