Just had an idea, but sure one of you has had it before.. how about a one off Nottingham Vs Derby tourny? (as a test), some kinda format with equal number of players from each area/leagues? Also, maybe good to have it in Derby first, maybe get things moving a bit more over there (compared to our excellent thriving snooker scene).
Thoughts?

I think Steve has discussed this with club in Derby (cue ball?), I think it was all positive and is potentially on the cards at some stage in the future.

Personally i would love to see an East Midlands team Knockout for all the regions top players.  If pool can do it i don't see why snooker shouldn't. perhaps teams from the following Cities/towns.

1.  Nottingham
2.  Leicester
3.  Derby
4.  Lincoln
5.  Newark
6.  Mansfield
7.  Chesterfield
8.  Worksop

Ross - we used to have this at a County level and it was great.

I know that Steve has been speaking with Mark Hird and Jimmy Gratton about this but not sure what stage they go to. But I agree with you it would be a great tournament to have, I guess it could be setup similar to the Naz House Vs NNIA night that we had a while ago.

The last discussion I had on this subject was with Jim Gibson (Cueball).  When he saw we were going to run a 6 red league over the summer he commented that he liked the idea and wanted to do a similar league in Derby.  I'm not sure if it ever got off the ground but the plan was for a Derby v Notts 6 red tourny at the end of the summer season.

Whatever format we decide a match is still on the cards at some point.
