KNOCKOUT CUP GROUP MATCHES - ROUND 1 (06/10/09)

I've now got all the results in, so thanks to team captains/nominated persons for that!

Hopefully, most people have now realised that the group format means it's points that count and not simply wins and losses.  I think the concept may be a bit alien to some but I'm sure people will get used to it.

If your team have had a poor game this week, you can always make up for it on 27th October when the next round of group matches takes place.  Simply try and score as many points as you can!

The group tables have been updated and can be viewed on the league website, however they are also shown below.

A few stats for you:

Total number of points scored on the night: 8,700
Total points on offer (147 per frame): 9,408
Highest number of points scored: 617
Lowest number of points scored: 456
Average points scored per team: 544
Number of teams scoring above average: 6
Number of teams scoring below average: 10

KNOCKOUT CUP GROUP MATCHES - ROUND 2 (27/10/09)

All results are in from last nights group matches, thanks to everyone for your speedy results submissions!

As it currently stands:

Knockout Cup Semi-Finals
Pegasus Snooker Club A v BCI Super Elites
Cotgrave Welfare v Beeston Snooker Hall

Knockout Plate Semi-Finals
City Hospital Leisure Centre v Oakleigh Lodge Social Club
Arnold Civil Defence A v Wollaton RBL

It's great to see the likes of City H, Oakleigh and Wollaton in the mix.

There's still all to play for in Group A as City Hospital could easily pip Pegasus A to the KO Cup semi-final place and Nottingham Uni could easily make the semis of the Plate at the expense of City Hospital.

In Group B Oakleigh Lodge could easily beat BCI Super Elites to the KO Cup semi-final place, but it's certainly looking good for both teams.

Group C is much like Group B with Cotgrave and Arnold A battling it out for the KO Cup semi-final place with either of them looking favourite for at least the Plate semi-finals.

Beeston, Wollaton and Arnold B are all in good positions in Group D but the division 2 sides could easily nudge Beeston out of the top 2 with their high handicaps.

All in all, there's still plenty to play for on 8 December!
