The defending champions suffered a bit of a scare at the new look Oakleigh Lodge Social Club (very impressed with the plush surroundings) as they nearly went out to Spider & Selby.  The Stadium pair went into a 1-0 lead thanks more to luck than skill.  Spider potted a good pink and black in the second frame to level the match.  Both pairs were giving each other total respect and this resulted in some cagey play.  Spider & Selby opened up a 20 point lead in the deciding frame but Hearson-Ellis had a run of 14 at a crucial stage.  A fluked brown by Hearson-Ellis late on left the Oakleigh pair needing a snooker and the Stadium pair held on to record the win.

We're hoping it will be the same as last year, play rubbish all the way to the final..........

I'm glad you do.  We played awful.  The daft thing is we practised for a bit at Stadium prior to the match and Matt had a 43 break and I had a 66 and a 68 break.  The highest in the match was Matt's 14 break.  It's a funny old game!

AH! Lucky Butler again! Hope you win it again Steve. Unlucky Spider. When are we going to see a team in the Institutes or the summer league from Oakleigh?  :bravo:
