ENGLISH PREMIER JUNIOR TOUR EVENT 3

THREE ON THE BOUNCE FOR CRAIGIE


Stephen Craigie, Newcastle defeated brother Sam 4-1 to win Event 3 English Premier Junior Tour, Hazelgrove SC, Stockport to register his 3rd successive title in the six event series.

The rankings outright leader opened the final with breaks of 68 and 52, Sam won the 3rd frame with a 58 for 2-1 the 4th frame went to Craigie senior 71-58 adding the 5th easily.

The winner's unbeaten 18 match run ended in his first group match on Saturday a 3-0 loss to Shahrukh Nasir who finished bottom of the group, Craigie also fought back from 2-1 down against group winner Mitchel Travis and Nikolas Charalambous.

He cruised through the knockout stage beating Kamran Ashraf 4-0, 63 break, Darren Cook 4-1, 80 break, Cook had beaten Jack Lisowski 4-2 and Ben Harrison 4-0.

Sam Craigie also came 2nd in his group behind sky diver Kyren Wilson beat Travis 4-1 breaks of 70 and 55, Wilson 4-2 breaks of 71 and 59 from 2-2 and Nick Jennings also 4-2, 64 and 59, Jennings 54.

Eighty three breaks over fifty recorded 128 the highest from the winner Ben Harrison 125, Callum Downing 109, Wilson and Tom Kerslake 106 and Cook 105 the century makers.

Jennings posted the best group frame figures 15-3 also unbeaten Tom Maxfield, Syd Wilson and Harrison, Travis, Lisowski, Ashraf and Kyren Wilson all lost a match.

Craigie heads Lisowski by over 300 points in the rankings Tom Maxfield moves up to 3rd from 6th, Sam Craigie 4th from 13th, Mitchell Mann is 5th, Ryan Causton 6th, Nick Jennings 7th from 12th and Ben Harrison climbs again to 8th from 16th.
