Recovering from a back injury and nicely doped up on painkillers I was looking forward to this match. Both players started a bit nervy with a lot of missed chances, but some very difficult safety was needed with James being far more consistent in this area. I messed up my safety shots a good few times allowing James to score enough to take the first frame.

James relaxed more in the 2nd frame, managing a 23 break which couldve been a lot more. I managed to start potting a few balls so didn't fall too far behind. With a final clearance needed of 22, I missed a fairly easy pink and then made matters worse by once again cocking up a safety to leave the pink over the pocket. This was the only ball needed by James to take the frame once again.

Well played James, good luck in the next round.
