The first stage of the English Pro Ticket Tour 2009/2010 has now been completed the top 16 in each section after Event 4 will compete in three more events, Leeds, Leicester and Woking to find the first WSA English nomination for next season.

The second WSA place will not be known until the Play Off 29/30th May which will include the double ranking points from the English Amateur Final Stages.

North – Northern SC, Leeds
Kyren Wilson, Northants edged Stephen Craigie, Newcastle 5-4 (70-61) on the final frame to leap up to 3rd place from11th in the rankings, Craigie rises three places to 6th.

Kuldesh Johal retains 1st place at this stage on 714 points, Antony Parsons is still 2nd on 638, Wilson who made a 147 in the Premier Junior Tour recently has 607 points, Jamie O'Neill 4th 547, Craigie 6th 519, David Lilley 7th 474 and 8th Jonathan Bagley 472 points make up the top eight from a total of 97 entrants inclusive of English Amateur points.

Wilson did not lead in the final frame trailing 3-1 after a break of 71 for 1-1 the winner drew level at 3-3 with a 60, Craigie led again 4-3 with a run of 57 only for Wilson to clinch the close decider and his first senior title.

Wilson trailed Mitchell Travis 2-1 in the first round to win 4-2 with efforts of 57 and 56 found himself 3-0 down the last 16 to David Portman 58,52 breaks Wilson made a 52 for 3-1 winning the final three frames all on the latter colours.

Reversed the score line in the last eight 3-1 up over David Grace with a 89 to win the first frame and final David Craggs 4-1, 53 break.

Craggs had beaten Antony Parsons 4-3 in the last 16 after leading 3-0 with breaks of 80 and 56, Parsons 136 clearance the venue's highest break of the weekend.

Craigie who has won the first five PJT's this season so far accounted for Thomas Pendlebury 4-0 with breaks of 81 and 69, Andrew Milliard 4-1, 54, Robbie Williams 4-2, Williams 78 for 2-2, Stuart Carrington also 4-2 and finally Adam Duffy again 4-2, Craigie 80 for 2-2.  

South – Breaks SC, Erdington, Birmingham
Mark White, Coventry competing in only his 2nd event in the series thrashed Rob James, Burntwood Event 1 winner 5-1 to leap up to 7th place in the rankings from 32nd spot, James takes over again at the top of the table from a total of 111 entrants.

James has just a two point lead over Event 3 winner Adam Wicheard who has 787 points, 3rd Matt Wilson 550, Mitchell Mann still 4th, 549, 5th Alfie Burden 526, 6th Sean Bullock 472, 7th White 423 and 8th Ben Harrison Event 2 winner 413 points.

White lost the 1st frame of the final then reeled of the next five frames fairly comfortably with breaks of 45 and a 4th frame 130 effort.

16 year old Danny Douane surprised the field making his 147 plus a 84 break against Jamie Walker in a 4-2 2nd round loss, Walker losing 4-3 to Ward in the quarters.

To reach the final White played well beating Richard Somauroo 4-1, 117 break, Martin O'Donnell also 4-1 89 and 81 to finish, Wicheard 4-3 who led 3-0 59 and 50, White 56 and then 61 in the decider and in the semi finals Ward 4-3 after leading 2-0 breaks of 65, 57 Ward led 3-2 74 and 85.

James defeated Nick Jennings 4-2, James 52, Jennings 97, Bullock 4-3 who made a 125, James 67 and a last frame 61 whitewashed Elliot Bastable 4-0 breaks of 95,57 and 51 and lastly Matt Wilson 4-1 runs of 51 and 60.

Mann and O'Donnell recorded high class finishes in their early matches Mann 2-1 down Phil Parkin ended with scores of 136, 91 and 52, O'Donnell 3-1 down to Tom Maxfield 87 and 109 popped in contributions of 119, 101 and 61.

World Champion could only manage a 134 break this time not enough to stop free scoring Nathan Jones who won 4-1 with breaks of 85,84,62 and 57.
