This was always going to be a tight and nervous match as Arnold?s two rival clubs locked horns for the first time this season, but no one could have foreseen just how close it would be with a re-spotted black deciding that the spoils would be shared. Chris Brooks got Pegasus off to a flyer by once again proving too strong for his opponent Chris Winters. At Arnold C.D. Tony Hart didn?t miss much and dominated proceedings in his win over Chris Piech whilst Rick Worrall lost his mammoth tactical bout to leave the away leg reeling.  Fortunately back at Pegasus things were going well, Jamie Mathers played some excellent snooker to stave of the threat of Gary Spencer and Steve Booth continued to impress with a well deserved win against Jon Paul Fountain. 
Mike Langdon put Pegasus in the driving seat at 4-2 with some solid potting, good safety and a huge slice of luck when he fluked a red which resulted in knock of 24 at a crucial period in the frame.  The pressure was soon back on though when Chris Brooks and Jamie Mathers failed to win their doubles frame and Chris Piech and Scott Bates required all 22 points left on the table to tie the last frame of the evening. Scott Bates brilliantly mopped up those remaining four balls to force a re-spotted black, which would decide the frame and ultimately the match result.  Sadly the re-spotted black ball game which should have been a brilliant and exciting end to this match ended in farce and confusion when Pegasus were ruled to have played their shot out of order. After an unsavory and unnecessary ten-minute break due to the deemed rule break a brilliant pot on the black ensured a share of the points for Arnold Civil Defence.
