Nottingham's Barry Stark has again entered the Pro-Ticket Tour for the coming season.  The first event will be held on 4th - 5th October 2008 and the full list of entrants can be viewed here.

NORBURY WINS OPENING ENGLISH PRO TICKET
CARRINGTON CRUSHED


Chris Norbury, Accrington comfortably won this seasons opening English Pro Ticket
Tour, Woking SC, Surrey crushing Stuart Carrington, Grimsby 5-0 in the final.

The Pro Ticket is a set of 6 events played through until April.  The leading player in the
rankings that includes the results from the English Amateur is nominated by EASB
for a Main Tour place 2009/2010.

The next 32 players in the rankings play off in May for the 2nd English top flight
place.

The former Main Tour and England junior hardly broke sweat all weekend only
troubled in the last 8 by fellow Lancs player Allan Taylor.

The winner opened the final with a break of 65 quickly followed by efforts of 46,45
and 55 to whitewash Carrington who unusually hardly scored any points after the 1st
frame.

Norbury defeated on the Saturday Lee Payne 4-1, Lee Page 4-2, English Under 19
Champion Adam Duffy 4-0 and Greg Batten English Team winner who made a 124
the previous round 4-1.

On Sunday in his closest match Allan Taylor 4-2, Norbury 79 to finish, Taylor 45 and
55 and finally Matt Williams 4-1 losing the first frame then as per the weekend
dominating the rest of the match, Norbury 72, Williams 66.

Carrington only lost 5 frames up to the final beating Paul Veitch 4-0, 53 break,
George Marter 4-0, 63 break, Rob James 56, Carrington 95,75 and 51 the next day
Michael Wild 4-2 the winner led 2-0, 80 and 74, Wild 2-2 with runs of 79 and 62.
In the semi finals Sam Baird 4-2, Carrington 94 to finish Baird 59 and 58 who
had accounted for Alfie Burden and Ben Woollaston earlier Burden 94,113 and 115 in
his first two matches.

Evans in contention
Snooker's leading lady Reanne Evans showed her mettle defeating Jake Nicholson,
Adam Wicheard and 2006 English Amateur runner up Martin O?Donnell all 4-2 to
reach the last 16 losing 4-1 to Daniel Ward IBSF runner up all close frames.

Wild claims top break
Michael Wild made the events highest break a 137 in the 2nd round during a 4-2 win
over Hugh Abernathy.
