WILD GOES TOP

Jimmy Robertson, Bexhill on Sea defeated Michael Wild, Oldham 5-3 to win the 2nd EASB Pro Ticket Tour, Northern SC, Leeds.  Nottingham's Barry Stark went down 4-0 to Martin Ball in the first round.

Wild takes over at the top of the rankings with 4 events remaining only a few points separate the top 4, Wild 335, Stuart Carrington, Grimsby 330, Chris Norbury, Accrington 323 and Robertson 311.

Wild led 2-0 easily making a break of 73 in the 2nd frame, Robertson then led 3-2 for the loss of just 9 points with a run of 96 at 2-2 adding a close 6th frame to extend his lead the next two frames shared both 71-1 score lines enough to give the ex Main Tour player victory.

The winner commenced his weekends campaign with a 4-2 win over Dean Venables 87, Robertson 51, 4-3 against Jeff Cundy from 3-2 down finishing with efforts of 101 and 91.

Again in the last 16 Robertson ended the match well with runs of 93 and 84 to beat Under 19 runner up Ben Harrison 4-1, Ben Woollaston 4-2 winning the last three frames easily 79 and 65 and finally to reach the final Gary Wilson 4-1 with a 90 break.

To head the rankings Wild accounted for Sam Baird 4-3, Wild led 2-1,111 and 71 breaks, Baird 75 and 65, Wild 67 and won the decider to nil.

Then he comfortably defeated his next five opponents Greg Batten 4-1, James Silverwood 4-0 breaks of 76 and 71, Matt Wilson 4-1, 95,77,51 and 47, Stuart Carrington 4-0, 51 twice and in the semi finals Craig Steadman 4-2, Wild led 3-0, Steadman 104 and 61 to pull two frames back.

Williams makes highest break
Geoff Williams made the highest break 132 in the last 64 losing in the next round to Robbie Williams 4-0, Willams the younger making breaks of 130 and 120 in the first two rounds.
