great result chris, you played very good and solid snooker throughout the tournament inc the previous ones. Ashley was a tough opponent and you kept him off the table, very high quality stuff. You deserved it and the best thing about the whole thing is, the grand prix will be even stronger come next year, as there is alot of interest from other top players who were skeptical of the whole idea !!!

Thanks again Mike for bringing about this format.

Firstly thank you to Mike Langdon,Steve Butler and Wayne Martin you have done a brilliant superb job on creating the first ever Nottingham Grand Prix i am glad to say i took part in going to the first ever Nottingham Grand Prix and finishing ranked 12th Wow!
But one that stands out to is amazing Sean Hopkin only age 14 came to 3-4 events 5 including the main comp but just scrapping in to finnish tied 15 or 16? and almost beating Wayne Martin in the last 16 3-2 of scratch i think but Great performance Sean Hopkin well done.

I'm really glaud that Chris Brooks won he defo deserved it well done amazing player and although he was'nt winning frames in one visit his match play was right on the money. :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo:

I really dont mean to sound cornie or anything . I'm happy you made this event happen and work because over the past 11 months i've been coming and playing such tallented players that have beat me and i might of nick a frame from them to or even beat them (rearly) but i've learnt alot because of it and i feel the Nottingham Grand Prix (even thought i dont allways get a good result) has made me become a better player thank you.

James Robinson

You are playing some great stuff right now sean, best ive ever seen you play thats for sure. keep up the good work thats all i can say.

And i might have to echo you on the snake, he was really unlucky against wayne, he knows full well he had the win in the bag put a preasure pink we all miss them. but again if he keeps plugging away like he is he will go far in the game ive no doubt about that.

But yeah (bit jeloush)hes a wicked player though at a young age with pelnty of protenchual with plenty off time to blossem into one off Nottinghams top players.

thank you james and sean for the kind words, very greatful indeed!!!

i'd also like to thanks wayne, mike and steve, the first ever nottingham grand prix and its been very successful, not many relise but steve butler comes in from a night shift and has no sleep, no moaning no nothing and he still does a great job!!

The best player won it on the day, Chris beat some brilliant players throughout the day, Big well done to Chris!!!  :drink:

Mike Langdon

Thanks for the positive comments on the Grand Prix guys. Although having the original idea I can't take the credit for it's success. Both Wayne and Steve are the ones who have kept it running over the last 6 months so a huge thankyou to both of them and of course Pegasus Snooker Club for allowing us to hold the event.

I thought Sunday was fantastic, just how I had hoped it would be ie loads of drama, excitement and some damn good snooker to boot.

Well done to Chris, Lee, Wayne and Malc and also not forgetting Ashley Walker who picked up a cheque for £126 for his superb break in event 2.

I'm hopeful this is only the start for the Grand Prix and I'm sure under Wayne's leadership this event can only go from strength to strength in the future.

Well done to everyone who has taken part.

Cheers

Mike
