Sorry to people eager for a write up of the results of last night. I know kwok would have usually had the results in by now like at stupid oclock in the morning but i need my sleep amongst other things lol. First things first, i have been given the responsibility by kwok this time to do the write up, so if u dont already know yet, the Beeston lads ended up quite comfortably winning. Congratulations Beeston!

The matches was played at Pegasus, where Barry on table 1 got underway against clint. Barry got off to a quick little start but then started missing a few pots leaving clint to take the chances that fell his way. Clint eventually winning by roughly 50points. Over on table 2, Bash seemed to make light work of the always dangerous Tom. Some fantastic positional play and the BCI man made a great break of 74 along the way to claw back the negative 50points conceded by Barry. Next it was James on table 1 against Shane. James took the lead with a few red and colours and safety and looked really comfortably in front for the majority of the frame. However Shane hit back in style with a more than decent clearance to reduce the arrears to only lose by 20points to James (which at one point looked like was going to win by a much bigger margin). Back over on table 2, Jason and Toby went head to head. There were one or two misses from both players and some good safety exchanged between the two. But the seasoned player Jason took the advantage. A break of 37 along the way gave Jason victory over Toby despite Toby's best efforts. Returning to table 1 again and it was the battle of the two Neils. BCIs Neil never really got going in this frame despite one or two chances leaving his namkesake to do the business for Beeston and gain back the points advantage. On table 2 again, and it was evident both these third frames were turning points. Jon got off to a good start but eventually falling prey to Andy who in the end quite easily despatched of the BCI man. The points gap had increased again in favour of Beeston. Heading into the final two pairs games, BCI had a mountain to climb (requiring 126points including the handicap to make up the deficit). Table 2 was underway first. Bash & Jason against Tom & Andy. There weren't any significant breaks in this game but some good safety and potting from both sides and the BCI pairing eventually took the close frame. Finally, over on table 1, Barry & James never really got going against Clint & Neil. James broke off and soon found himself in a good position with black on its spot but missed it. Almost immediately after James was in a similar position and again missed the black on its spot. Clint and Neil though were not as un-clinical. The guys took their chances perhaps knowing that theyd pretty much already won and cleared up the remainder of the balls whilst the rest of the BCI team had already come to terms that this was not meant to be their night.

Thanks guys and Thanks for a great report Marty, it was a good night out. Its been a while since I've been out lol.

We're still unsure as to whether we'll be continuing, we were struggling to get a regular team together since Xmas.  Unfortunately it went down to work/family/social commitments. We have the summer to try and give the team a reboot and see who can gather. So hopefully, we'll be back after the summer. I'm especially grateful of Toby, our new recruit, and his family, many thanks. His dad has been great, driving to matches.
