13.11.07 Arnold 'B' 4 v Rutland Club 4

Home -  Sean KELLY, Andy NICHOLS & John CHATTIN were, I'm informed, well beaten in the singles but dont know if Rutland took their foot off the pedal because Arnold, through KELLY & NICHOLS, came back to take the singles,   Home Arnold  1 - 3.
Because of illnesses and holidays Arnold away were in a right state. Ken CUNNINGHAMS son, James, had to be brought in at the last minute and held his own to beat Clive ATKINSON on the pink. Alan CUNNINGHAM played Dave MARTIN in a real dogged affair - Alan was 6 in front with the pink and black remaining - Dave took the pink into the middle but crept 'in-off' into the yellow bag. Alan eventually clipped the pink into the same yellow bag. That frame finished at 9.15pm.  Ken C' then went on to play and win his singles - a real drawn out frame finishing at 10.15pm. The final pairs wasnt much better - it crept through that Rutland had won 3-1 so at that stage Arnold were actually winning the match 4 -3. It was nip and tuck and Arnold were 26 behind with the green on the table. Rutland eventually got the green and Alan was unsuccessful on his being snookered on the brown so the frame was conceded.  Away Arnold (Cunninghams ! !) 3 - 1.    Total 4 - 4.
