The boys were met with a very warm welcome at Nottingham's newest snooker club, Hidden Spot in Radford.  The owner led us to the VIP Room where the cover was taken off one of the two tables to reveal a beautiful steel block match table, recently recovered by GCL Billiards.

The VIP Room features a wall hung flat screen TV showing Sky Sports nicely positioned at the end of the match table, but the boys enjoyed the table so much that they were not distracted by the live football one bit.

As far as i am aware, the table steve and jon played on are not steel block cushions, its the other table in the picture.

Well that what i was told when visiting the club not so long ago.

This was probably the best room and table we have played on so far and a total contrast to the one we had just come from - a certain well known chain of clubs offering snooker for £9 an hour for which you get dead cushions, ten year old cloth, a light so dim it might as well have been switched off, no rests in the entire club and balls so old it was hard to distinguish the brown from a red.

Hidden Spot on the other hand, is indeed tucked away but well worth a visit!

I've been playing at hidden spot for a couple of months now and just set up the first team to start playing from there on a Tuesday night.

I've got to admit its a really nice place to play and Tara (the owner) is very friendly, just like the rest of the staff there. He always comes over and makes sure we have everything and the table is running ok and a quick chat.

Really looking forward to my first full season in snooker and being the captain of a cracking bunch of lads. Fingers crossed we have a good season.
