ENGLISH PREMIER JUNIOR TOUR EVENT 5

MITCHELL MANN WINS IN SURREY

LISOWSKI NOW HEADS RANKINGS


Mitchell Mann, Birmingham won Event 5, English Premier Junior Tour, Woking SC defeating Jack Lisowski, Gloucester 4-2 in the final.

Lisowski on 714 points takes over at the top of the rankings from Liam Highfield who missed the competition in Surrey due to illness.

Semi finalist Michael Wasley also from Gloucester is 2nd 699 points, 3rd Mann 650, 4th Alex Dunkley 606, 5th Nick Jennings 606, 6th Highfield 591, 7th Kyren Wilson 575 and 8th Kamran Ashraf 515 make up the top 8.

However with all players able to drop one event from the  six at present the top 3 would be Wasley 638, Lisowski 623 and Highfield 591.

In the final Mann led 2-1 on the black after losing the 1st frame, Lisowski drew level on the same ball, Mann closed out his first win of the series comfortably making a break of 55 in the last frame.   

Mann had surprisingly had not previously progressed by the last eight this season won his group with out losing a match as did Wasley, Darren Cook and Dunkley.

In the group Mann made a 112 break and reached the final without any real problems beating Matt Jelley 4-1, 75, Syd Wilson 4-2, Sam Harvey 4-2 from 2-1 down and Dunkley 4-0 breaks of 66,54 and 77.

Lisowski 2nd in his group to Lee Shanker played much better from the last 32 making breaks of 51,52 and 114 to beat James Silverwood 4-1, Cook 4-1, 90 and 51, Cook 51, Nathan Jones 46, 65, 4-2, Lisowski 51,
2-1 down 92 and 51 to finish and then Wasley 4-3 from 3-1 down the last three frames down to the colours.

Ryan Causton 16th and Sam Harvey 27th reached the quarter finals for the first time the former making the final of the Birmigham Open two weeks later beating Alfie Burden and Joe Jogia losing to Craig Steadman at the end.

Other group winners Jennings, Ryan Mears and Ben Harrison.

Darrell Whitworth made the highest break 126, Kyren Wilson 123 and Wasley 101 the other centurions.

The top four players after Event 4 Highfield, Wasley, Lisowski and Jennings are all in Russia at the time of writing playing in the European Under 19?s, St Petersberg.  The winner of which is normally given a Main Tour place.

6th and final event Riley?s, Plymouth, May 16/17th.
