Erm, I knew nothing about this league Mike! Can anyone join in? I'd love to play twice a week instead of once if I can. If so could you give us some info on fornmat, venues etc?

yeah no problems Ross as we will be running it again next season.  Basically matches are 4 frames and each player uses his NHSL handicap.  You play each opponent in your division twice (once at home and once away). Most players use the club where they play for their team for home matches but it doesn't have to be. Adam Goodall for instance plays for Lenton but uses Spot On Hucknall for his home matches as it's closer to where he lives whilst all the Peoples Hall lads play at Spot On Sneinton so it's up to you if you wish to play at Stadium or not.  The season runs during the NHSL season (Sept - April) and matches are pencilled in for every other Thursday (You don't have to play on the Thurs as you can contact your opponent to arrange a different day if not available on said day).

I'll pencil you in for next Season (of course if you can't wait that long for your snooker fix you're more than welcome to come and play in the Pegasus league which is a similar format but runs from May - Sept)

Cheers

Ah cool. I just think my game will only get better with more competative play, there's a few areas I know I need to work on and hate practising by myself. I might relax a bit more in singles too, I'm too easily distracted by comments/advice from a few of my players (while I'm playing) so be good to "free myself up" a bit.
Probably moving to Derby in Sept to start college there, but still keen to get bus back here for snooker.

Yep i'll put your name down.  Entry fee is ?5 which enters you into both the league and KO cup (+ members cup for 1st round losers).  You'll also have to buy a half year membership card which costs ?10 as all matches are played at Pegasus Snooker Club.  The good news is that once again this season i have secured half rate tables for all league and cup games.

I'll be in contact

Cheers

Hey Mike,
I dont play for a club in your league so would that mean i cant go in the singles?

Steve Butler

Hi Stewart,

No it doesn't mean you cannot enter.  Just ?10 will enter you into all of the Nazareth House Snooker League's singles tournaments, ie. Singles Championship, Handicap Singles Championship and the Singles League.  Superb value - tell your mates!

We'll be distributing the entry forms after the AGM in September.  I'll make sure I post details on the forum.

Cool photo with the late great Paul Hunter.  Not as good as this photo though:

Hi Stuart....good to see you on the forum.  We'll be making the numbers up to 8 in each division next season so i'll also be able to fast-track you straight into the Premier Division.

See you soon
