ENGLISH REGIONAL JUNIOR TOUR
FINAL EVENT 2008/2009

The top 3 players in each region are promoted to the Premier Junior Tour set 48 field next season the next three in each area rankings compete for the remaining spaces made available mainly through age (Under 21) on June 6th.

128 players took part in the overall tour a review of the numbers will take place through the summer with possibly a further spilt in the regions due to the events continuing success.

North ? St.Michaels SC, Wakefield.
Damian Wilks, Bradford grabbed the 3rd promotion place by winning the final event of the Regional Junior Tour beating twice winner, Region Champion, Elliott Slessor, Gateshead 2-1 in the final from 32 players.

Slessor won the first frame of the final however Wilks who started the event in 7th place dropped just 3 points in the last two frames.

John Roberts, Liverpool who won Event 3 finished in 2nd place assured of at least a play off place are Sean Pritchard, Penwortham, Jonathan Buglass, Hartlepool and Zac Barton, Bolton a quarter finalist in four events.

Sanderson Lam who won Event 4 made the days highest break 86 and lost out in the last four to a certain play off spot 2-1 to Wilks.

Oliver Calland reached the semi finals for the first time and Jonathan Bradley the quarters.

All but three of the last 16 matches went to the deciding frame.

A total of 48 players took part in the Regions five events.

Midlands ? Windmill SC, Rushden
James Jelley, Leicester snatched the final play off place in Northants on the pink 2-1 over Alex Anastasiou, Derby who knocked out both the top 2 players.
29 players took part ? 38 in total on the Rankings.

The winner had defeated Andrew Smith 2-1 on a respot. Lewis Mayes 2-1 the 2nd frame on the black the decider with a 54 break and finally semi finalist in his first event Chris Wakelin 2-0.

Nikolas Charalambous, Newmarket topped the rankings heading twice winner Shahrukh Nasir, Birmingham by 24 points, 3rd Thomas Kerslake, Nottingham.

In the play offs with Jelley , Mayes, Laindon a finalist and Smith, Bewdley semi finalist twice.
Jordan Rimmer who reached the last eight for the first time recorded the highestbreak 72.

South ? Grove SC, Romford
Scott Bell, Tunbridge Wells from 11th place with just two last 16?s on his card defeated Mark Green, Salisbury 2-1 to pip the Wiltshire player of 3rd place in the rankings.

Lawrence Oliver, Milton Keynes who failed to reach the last 16 this time topped the rankings young Shane Castle, Southampton 2nd and 3rd by just four points over Green
Kurtis Weaver, Bristol who made the days best break 85 and won the first event back in October.

In the play off?s with Green, Oliver Tydeman, Chandlers Ford Event 2 winner and runner up Sean O?Sullivan, London.
       
The days winner had beaten Weaver and Jake Gill 2-1 the latter reaching the semi finals in the only two events he played, Green had beaten Tydeman 2-0 in the last four.

25 players took part in the final event ? 42 players on the full rankings.
