Yep i agree Steve.  I always judge on how well i'm playing by what i miss rather than what i pot.  I might make a 50 odd break one week but during that session miss a load of balls i would expect to make whilst the next week only make a couple of 20 odd breaks but not miss anything silly and would class that as playing better even though no decent breaks were made.

As you say it's all very well and good blaming handicaps, flukes, tables and bad luck etc for a defeat but if you're totally honest with yourself you always know you had chances but simply didn't take them or made the wrong shot selection at the wrong time.  And as you rightly say that's how you become a better player by taking it on the chin, congratulating your opponent and making sure you learn from it.

Bloody frustrating game though !!!

Why have we not had a full rundown of the matches? I still don't know who won it, who was runner-up etc. Can you put something on the forum please Stephen Lally?

I know it may seem a bit odd to post this here but if you are reading this because you are concerned about competition rules and you also play in the Nazareth House League then please look at the thread about 3 man 2 frames.

I apologise if this does not concern you or it seems like a strange thing to read about here.  However, the changes being discussed on that thread are about a whole season of matches for a lot of players.
