At Stadium, close and scrappy seemed to be the theme of the night with Mick Salmon finishing well on the colours after a tight frame. Last minute reserve John Lane was perhaps a little nervous being called to play a match but both players struggled to make any breaks with Toby Irons falling over the line with the final black. "Hit and Run" Dave Salmon got some tidy little breaks before running for cover with good safety although Matt Ellis managed to do enough to just take the frame. More of the same from Dave in the pairs, managing a good lead by way of a 36 break while both Matt and Ross missing crucial colours made the result clear.

At BCI, Bob Walker got a good 36 break and took the first frame with a good total of points from both players. Steve Butler managed to take the second frame with a closer margin. Pete Gormley was pleased to win the 3rd frame on a deciding black having lost along with his pairs partner in a similar situation the night before. In the pairs, Craig bradley managed an excellent 25 clearance to make sure of the frame.

A pretty even handed match all round from 2 teams who might end up in similar positions in the division.

At BCI:
Clint Broome 51-100 Bob Walker(36)
Craig Bradley 31-53 Steve Butler
Donovan Burton 40-42 Pete Gormley
Paul and Craig(25) 63-21 Bob and Steve

At Stadium:
Ross Wilkin 23-50 Mick Salmon
John Lane 38-47 Toby Irons
Matt Ellis 52-38 Dave Salmon
Ross and Matt 25-62 Dave(36) and Mick

It was a good break and could easily have been 50+

It must be all the extra snooker you've been getting in the singles leagues!
