DUNKLEY WINS SERIES AND NEW PB 133

WILSON CLAIMS 2ND UNDER 21?S

Although Alex Dunkley lost the 10th Under 21 event his only defeat in five finals, Willie Thorne?s 2-0 in a reduced match to Kyren Wilson he secured enough points to win the year long ranking series with two events remaining.

The South Coast teenager also upped his personal best break to 133 a total clearance in a second round trouncing of Alex Anastasiou, Lee Shanker pocketed the only other century 112.

Wilson who won April?s event captured the 2nd frame of the final on the black the series champion required a clearance on the colours but missed the last ball and conceded in a low key match late starting due to the bottom half of the draw being slow.
With the win Wilson who leads the Under 16 rankings moves ahead of Nick Jennings into 2nd place the only change in the top 6.

The day?s winner defeated Aaron McIntyre 4-1, Kevin Yates 4-2 breaks 83,77 and 65, Scott McGaw 3-1 and finally the previous days Under 16 winner Danny Douane, 14, shoots up to 12th, 3-2 on the black after Douane led 2-1 benefiting from the miss rule.

Dunkley opened with a 4-0 beating of Anastasiou the133 and a 74 break, John Fountain 3-0,71 break and Sameer Knight now 9th in his first semi final 3-1, Dunkley 54 and a black ball 4th frame.

Mears rethink profits

Ryan Mears declined at first to play in the plate but regrouped himself to beat Kevin Yates 2-0, in the final, Mears 50 break after losing to the same player in the first main  4-2, Mears just dropping one frame in the event.
For the 3rd consecutive month Yates ended up a losing finalist after twice missing out to Dunkley in the main event.

Hiren Zinzuwadia reached the plate semi finals at the first attempt and young Tom Kerslake posted his best performance at the same stage.

Next event Sunday  November 4th, 11.30am start, ?15 entry fee.
