Pegasus 'B'  5-3  Cotgrave Welfare
                                Billy Johnson (31)

Pegasus Snooker Club 'B' picked up their first win of 2010 with only a re-spotted black separating the two teams. Steve 'The Force' Booth got the home leg off to a good start knocking in a 21 break in his win over Cotgrave's Colin Armstrong.  Cotgrave hit back with two huge winning totals in frames 2 & 3 to move 2-1 in front.  Phil Foster made a good 24 break as he beat Pegasus's new recruit Jamie Sampson 67-7 whilst Chris King was too good for Chris Mathers winning by 50 points, King also made a 24 break.  The two Booth's, James and Steve levelled the leg for Pegasus in the pairs winning a low scoring frame 37-7.  At Cotgrave Pegasus's two in-form players Eric Towle and Ken Michell gave Pegasus a dream start.  Towle was comfortable against John Cyrek scoring freely, laying some great snookers and was also handed a fair few points from an unlucky Cyrek who couldn't stop going in off.  Pegasus were soon two up with Michell coming out on top in an exciting frame against Rob Patterson with both players playing some good snooker.  Pegasus captain Mike Langdon can't buy a win at the moment and was stunned by a brilliant 31 clearance (bar the fluked yellow) from Billy Johnson to snatch the frame by just 5 points to pull a frame back for Cotgrave.  The drama wasn't finished just yet though with the Pegasus pairing of Towle & Michell and Cotgrave's Briody & Cyrek serving up a dramatic re-spotted black ball decider for the match.  It had looked like Cotgrave were all set to level the match before Towle for the third successive week proved to be Pegasus's saviour with a calm and collected 22 clearance to force the re-spot.  The re-spot went on for several minutes with both sides through either luck or good play keeping the black safe until Michell was given a tempting double to attempt.  Michell played the shot hard, very hard, missing the double into the middle pocket by an good inch, however as the ball came off the cushion a huge amount of side kicked in causing the black to arc into the bottom left hand pocket to leave Cyrek & Briody open mouthed and speechless.

Unlucky Cotgrave we certainly had a good run of the balls tonight especially Ken's final 'bannana shot' black...gotta laugh

Well played you lot. :bravo:

What happened in the doubles at pegasus?  37-7?  I don't think I've ever seen a win with 37 points.

There's finally daylight in the table between Pegasus & Arnold
