At Phoenix
Frame 1
D Baker   45 v 42 C Wright
I was also playing on the other table, so didnt get to see a deal from this frame, although Wright raced off to a 20 point lead early on. Danny dug in, and turned the frame round, and pinched it on the black. 1 nil phoenix
Frame 2
A Goring  61 v 37 Chris Star
Although i started badly, by scoring 3 reds, with no colours, i kept it tight nad eventually got going. I was 50 pionts up with 1 red left, but cresdit to Star who fought to the death and although didnt get the snookers needed, clawed right back at me. 2-0 Phoenix
Frame 3
G Birks    47 v 38 Don Merry
Gaz worked hard against Don to keep to home clean sweep on track. Again this frame went down to the pink and black, with it being very tight throughout. Gaz managed toi keep his composer to come out on top. 3-0
Frame 4
R Baker / A Goring   78 v 31 Chris Wright / Chris Star
Myself and young Ryan stepped forward in the doubles, and a combination of safety forced a error, and I got in to make 30, before losing the white in a good position. Ryan followed that up with a 17 in the next visit, to leave the Mapperley pair with a uphill battle. Again, Star wasnt in the mood to put his cue away, and pulled some late pots out, before failing to get the snooker hew was looking for. 4-0 at home.

Really proud of how the lads at home played, keeping it tight, and good to see Ryan keeping focused and controlled even though he was only selected in the doubles. His controlled white, forced errors, which i could then score from. Even danny kept focused enough to pot red colour red colour, as opposed to making his own rules up!!! lol.  Sounds like mapperley played really well to win 3-1 at there venue, but a massive win for phoenix, to keep survival hopes alive

S Lally               0 - 1  ?
I was 18 points up, without potting a ball, so mentally, I think, I decided to play the rest of the frame in the same vein, and conscequently was never really in it.

J Trout              1 - 0  ?
Joe played well and and seemed to be potting blacks every time I looked over from my frame, and ran out a comfortable winner.

R Giddons           0 - 1  ?
Both players played well in this one. Rodger was 16 ahead, with 25 left on. The Mapperly player cleared G B B P and rattlled the black. Then both settled into a game of one pocket snooker, or at least it felt like that was the number of pokets on the table, The Mapperly play potting in the end.

S Lally / J Trout  0 - 1  ?
Unfortunately for Joe, I continued with my non potting ways, and he managed to keep the frame tight on his own, until we sucumbed on the colours.
Well played Mapperly, and especially well played to our lads at home.
