Weekly report K/O Cup final

HEADLINES

K/O Cup holders Carlton LC beaten in the final by a strong BCI 'E'lites team. The match was played at Sherwood Social Club. Thank you from the Nottingham & Notts Institutes Association Snooker League to them for the use of their club

Carlton LC with a 42 handicap start

Frame 1 saw Danny DiFolco for Carlton LC start with 3 succesive fouls, and then make a run of 35 to surge into a lead. However it was James Moore for BCI 'E'lites who eventually won the frame with a 25 clearance winning by 74-58. This meant Carlton had a 100-74 lead. It was Jason Bettridge, for BCI, who had the better start in frame 2 only for Bob Walker to pull some of the score back in a 57-47 win For the BCI player. The match score at this point was still in Carlton's favour by 147-131. However frame 3 saw Jon Mason knock in a 24 break at the start of the match and follow it with a run of 57 to put BCI 'E'lites ahead. Andy Ball his Carlton LC opponent wasn't having luck at all with Mason running out the frame winner by 115-7. The match score was now well against the Carlton team being 246-154. Bob Wright for Carlton LC was doing his best to reduce the 92 deficit, but it was a lost cause against a very stong number 4 player in Kwok Yip. Yip eventually winning the deciding frame by 96-42.

Cheers Bob, a great Final which looked very close at the start with Calrton receiving a 42pts handicap as Danny after a 3 foul start got off to a dream start against James, who showed great Class in coming back and turning things around! Jason and Bob, tough match on a tough condition table!! Jonathan's great breaks in frame three, and a steady Captains performance in the final frame to over come a tough Calton side! You potted some awsome stuff in the final frame Bob, as i didn't leave you much to go at, well nothing Easy a well earned 40+pts!

Great win boyz!!!! over a very good and very capable Carlton side,and unlucky to Bob,Danny,Andy,and Bob,i'm sure they'll be back,fighting hard as i know they do,time after time!!
Sounded a great match,wish i coulda' got over to watch.
