Stadium Leisure once again caused an upset to take the division one play-off trophy, beating Arnold Civil Defence 'A' 4-2.

Barry Stark made breaks of 37, 22 and 22 to beat Gary Spencer whose only points came from a foul on the black.  Chris Winter pulled a frame back for Arnold in fine style, knocking in breaks of 34 and 47 to defeat Daniel Di Folco.  Bob Walker played well beating James Notman convincingly but Malc Belshaw once again levelled the match by taking a scrappy fourth frame against Matt Hearson-Ellis.  Steve Butler struggled against Brian Kinton but a few good pots in the latter stages sealed the fifth frame to put Stadium 3-2 up.  The sixth frame was nip and tuck but Ross Wilkin handled the pressure well and potted some terrific balls to seal a famous victory for Stadium.

Absolutely delighted for the Stadium team  .  Over the season Stadium have been a constant thorn in the sides of the so called big four (do we now have a big 5?).  They're also a cracking bunch of commited players who not only always play in the right spirit but give you chips at half-time which i've really missed playing in division 2.

Unlucky Arnold....after an awful start to the season you showed the determination that all great champions have and put together a great run of results.  No silverware this year but at least you put us upstarts at Pegasus in our now customery place ie; below Civil Defence in the table  :welldone:

What a result, it was close at the end with Ross 'Rocket' Wilkin sinking a pink
for 4-2.  Could easily have been 3-3 and then squeeky bum time!

Captain sidelined (ate an ant in his trifle and tummy feeling queezy) but able to draw on strength
in depth.

I think the last 2 results make up for all those close 5-3 defeats over the years!
Well done Stadium, now we get to play in Europe next season.  Bob the 'Break Builder'
can drive us on his bus accompanied by sounds from Status Quo.
