Pegasus C got their season back on track with a hard fought 4-4 draw with Rileys and are the only side to have taken more than one point off Rileys all season with this being the second draw between the two sides.

At Rileys –
Lee Thorpe 34 – 61 Matt Hearson-Ellis
Matt knew he had to keep the dangerous Thorpe at bay and did just that with a good solid performance. The frame was a safety battle with Matt making some long pots to go into the lead. Lee left Matt on the final red and Matt potted this followed by the brown and the yellow to lead by 25 with 25 left. Lee potted the green and later left the brown which Matt clipped into the black pocket. Lee needing snookers potted the blue by mistake and then tried in vain several times to get the black of the cushion, finally leaving a simple pink into the middle which Matt sunk to win it.

Simon Keeton 56 – 40 Ross Wilkin
Ross played well in this frame and went into the lead having potted the last red. However he then let Simon in a couple of times and Simon clinched the frame with some good pots. Little did Ross know until afterwards that Simon used to be a professional snooker player who reached about 140th in the world and has made a couple of 147s this week! Hard luck Ross! http://simonkeeton.jimscomputing.co.uk/Personal.html

Dave Hopkin 65 – 23 Daniel Norton
Dan struggled in this one to be fair – he made some solid pots but then beat himself up when he missed the following ball! Plus to make matters worse Dave normally plays number 1 and potted very well to take the frame.

Dave / Simon 56 – 16 Matt / Ross
Matt managed to keep the impressive Simon at bay in this frame not really giving him much to go at but once again Dave played very well to get Rileys in front. Pegasus needed snookers at the end and Matt potted the green giving him a chance to snooker Simon behind the blue but misjudged this and this proved to be the last chance they had with all the colours going safe and then Dave cleared up brown blue and pink.
3-1 to Rileys – well played and look forward to the cup match next week!

At Pegasus –

Eric Toole 9 – 72 (44,20) Aaron Cahoon
Steve 'The Force' Booth  50 – 36 Rob Pugh
Brian 'The Underdog ' Steeples  52 – 36 Tony Truin
Steve / Eric (20 break each) 74 – 46 Aaron / Tony

Matt arrived back in time to hear about Brian's fantastic win against Tony, who apparently was literally trying to pull his own head off due to him losing! The Force also was pleased with his 18 clearance against Rob, and well played to Eric helping seal a cracking home win – despite Eric having not played for a while since injury.

3-1 Pegasus home win making 4-4 draw on the night. All we need to do now is show this form against Gotham and we might have a chance of second. Come on boys!

Steve - you might need to add Simon Keeton to the handicap list - and it might need to be a minus before it!

Ross Wilkin
