Division 2: Willowbrook Wizards 4-1 Oakleigh Lodge D

The Wizards recorded their third successive 4-1 win in the League by beating Oakleigh Lodge D in a match that was on, off and then back on again. Oakleigh only had 3 players, so Andy Fitton doubled up.
Sadly Ant Lord took the opportunity provided by the initial cancellation to have a bath (some say long overdue!) and hence Ian Pointer played at No 4 for the Wizards.

Glenn Price 57-33 Gaz Evans

Glenn gave Gaz an early lead with 12 points in fouls. Gaz extended the lead to 20 before Glenn had registered a point of his own, but Glenn got back into the frame with a series of 2 ball breaks, and led by 4 going into the colours. A 7 point foul by Glenn gave Gaz a narrow lead, but some good potting saw Glenn pot the colours to win on the pink.

Rob Lord 54-44 Andy Fitton

Rob had 24 points on the board before Andy had scored and never looked like losing. Some steady potting saw him 35 ahead after the last red went down. Andy found his potting boots , but it was too late as Rob held too big a lead after potting the green.

Richard Bullock 54-44 Les Smith

Richard took an early lead with a 13 but Les potted well to leave the frame nicely poised going into the colours. There was much laughter amongst the other players and spectators centring around the aforementioned Ant's bath habits, the main contributors being his father and brother, the former spraying cider everywhere at one point. Richard and Les concentrated on the snooker. Les led by 3 when he potted the blue. Both players had chances to pot the pink, before Richard played two good shots to take pink and black to seal the win.

Ian Pointer 31-65 Andy Fitton

Andy fared much better second time round, building a lead of 35-21 going into the colours. He continued to pot well, and any chance Ian had went as he fouled twice allowing Andy to win comfortably.

A match played with lots of good banter, though some of the snooker was not of the highest quality. Jon Vollam's cobs and chips were excellent, and a good night was had by all.

It was a pleasure to play the Oakleigh lads as always, and as normal Andy was on top form on the entertainment front.
A good result for us making it three 4-1 wins on the bounce - very happy about that.
Thanks to Ian for stepping in at the last moment replacing Ant.

Cheers Guys really enjoyed it, look forward to the rematch.

The earliest i could make it would be about 7.30 i have to make sure the kids are sorted before her indoors lets me out to play
I am not 100% sure what shift her indoors is on, on Thursday but we should be fine to play (hopefully), if there are any problems i will let you know.

Due to the fact that players are not allowed to play 2 frames for the same team on the same night Willowbrook Club have been awarded a 5-0 win for this match. The general consensus of the NBSA Committee is that this is the result. James Robinson and myself both abstained as we play in the same division.

We would also like to thank Andy Fitton for playing the frame against Ian Pointer to give Ian a game., but it cannot be allow to count in the match.

It has always stood that if you only have 3 players you forfeit the last frame 147-0. Ian will be awarded a 147-0 win on this basis. He will only get 74 ranking points though, as it's half points for a claimed match.
