Whilst this is not an NBSA tournament I felt it worthy of a mention on the forum.

The BCI Tournaments have been taking place for decades now, with evidence of all the winners and runners up on the roll of honours wall at BCI.

In recent years the seniors has been dominated by Jason Bettridge, winning it around 9 times in a 10 year spell.

This year's final between Matt and I was not too pretty - to say the least. The room, unusually for BCI, was incredibly hot making playing quite uncomfortable. Pete brought a fan in to help cool us down, this became my number one fan - ahead of Jayne for the night.

The match was full of high quality safety from both of us, sadly followed by not so high quality potting. The highest break of the match being a modest 33 by KH.

Frame one went to Matt on the black. Frames two three and four were all tough frames with KH taking all three.

The last frame was the only one that was won comfortably. I think I had managed to bore Matt stupid with my safety, blame Paul Bell for that, and, with the help of several misses by MW I scored enough over a few visits to win the frame.

I think that Matt has come on in leaps and bounds since I first played him in Newark, with potting ability to match anyone in the local leagues.

It was only my experience defensively that saw me through to a win.
Thanks to Pete Trout for having us, and to the capacity crowd that attended - thanks to all four of you.
