Match Report
Mapperley continue to forge ahead at the top of the Division.

Frames 1+2
Steve as usual up first for the home side.Lots of respect shown by both Steve and Harvey for one another. Both frames very enjoyable,Harvey missing some shots that I wouldn't expect of him,and let Steve off the hook on a few occasions,it's fair to summize.Steve taking the first with the help of a 27 break, not one of his larger breaks, but much needed at the time.
Harvey tightened up is game somewhat in the second frame, but it was still anybody's.Harvey potting that bit better now and going in to the colours was just trailing Steve. At the brown ball Steve underhit his shot and stuck up the brown, and with easy blue ball position gained,Harvey took the pink only just (as it wobbled before dropping),this sealed the deal and a relieved Harvey was happy to snatch the draw. Always enjoy our meetings Harvey, cheers mate.

Frames 3+4
Don up next against Ross who tells me he doesn't seem to play as regularly so was understandably a bit rusty,at least in his first frame. This enabled Don to forge ahead and take advantage. He potted well and quickly established a useful lead.Ross only scoring 18 points this frame unusual for Ross.
Don comfortably taking the opener between them.It was a different story however in their second encounter.A complete reversal of frame 1,where this time Don found himself behind and playing 'catchup'.With Ross having had a warm up in his first frame,he was now potting better and it showed,as Ross takes the second frame to record the draw between these two.

So at the half way point it's . . .
Mapperley 2-2 Pegasus Sharks.

All to play for then for both teams.

Frames 5+6
Up next it's Joe taking on Dan.
Didn't really see these 2 frames. But on the occasions I glanced over whilst reffing, both Joe and Dan were potting well.
It was just the last couple balls or so that Joe managed to get over the line, judging by the frame score. The second frame almost a mirror of the first except Joe once getting ahead, kept himself there right till the end.Dan needing I think 3 or so  snookers and was 32 behind, but Dan trying hard and having a go nonetheless.
It was always going to be a tough ask and Joe easily takes the second to give Mapperley the 'Edge'.Could so easily have been a draw between these two, unlucky Dan.Good banter though!

Mapperley 4-2 Pegasus at this point, but a draw still on the cards could Peter hold the Division leaders to a draw read on . . .

Frames 7+8
Andy and Peter both struggled early on to pot and get any kind of lead, eventually both potting single reds and it was a slow start to the final 2 frames.Things picked up and Andy found his potting arm and with Peter having some cruel in-offs and and bad run lost the first ensuring Mapperely the home win! The second frame Andy had so much run and was almost apologising every other shot to Peter for his continued good run,we all call them FLUKES though Andy! HaHa!!
But Peter battled on gallantly. In fact Peter could so eaily have taken the last frame of the night, but guess what, yep! you guessed right,Andy outrageously flukes the final pink and black also,as Peter dropped his head, and looked astonished!!
How dramatic am I making this? HaHaHaHa!!
Peter it would have been much fairer had you have got a draw with our Andy,i'm sure he'll agree too! Bad luck!
And Andy, will all that luck,i would do the lottery this week, you can't fail but to win!!
LoL!!!

Well played everyone,Pegasus are great lads and I wish you all the best with your final few fixtures!
Cheers,
Steve :)

Ross only scoring 18 in one frame was that with the 14 start he was suppose to have with don being a grade 2 now?

Considering Lenton lost last night that makes that no one can catch Mapperley and they are Champions of Div 2. Congratulations, worthy winners.

Hi Alan . . .
Thanks for your very kind words of 'Congratulations' to 'Our' Mapperley Team.
Although it does 'seem' to be somewhat 'Premature' with their still being 4 weeks to go.
But Mathematically going on the points we're on, your quite right, we can't be caught now, and to do it with a month still to go,is a good feeling!
So thanks Alan, and all the best to your team.
The battles on now for 'RUNNER UP' . . .
